The Behavioral Health Therapist provides high quality and evidence based behavioral health services to children, adolescents, adults, and elderly with a wide range of presenting problems. Services may include individual therapy, couple’s therapy, family therapy, group therapy, and diagnostic assessment.
  • Provides diagnostic and therapeutic services in accordance with general standards applicable to mental health professionals.
  • Provides individual and/or group counseling services to children, adolescents, adults, elderly, and families.
  • Manages caseload and other tasks to meet both qualitative and quantitative performance expectations.
  • Provides crisis assessment and intervention as needed.
  • Adheres to and upholds the ethical standards and guidelines of the profession.
  • Documents work in accordance with standards in the areas of diagnostic evaluations, progress notes, treatment plans, discharge procedures, and other consumer related activities.
  • Participates in education and other activities necessary to maintain competency in clinical work.
  • Actively participates in clinical team and staff meetings.
  • Support team members and participate in team activities to help build a high-performance team.
  • Communicates effectively and works cooperatively with others.
  • Demonstrates flexibility in areas such as job duties and schedule to aid in better serving its members and help MPS achieve its business and operational goals.
  • Assists in efforts to continuously improve by assuming responsibility for identifying and bringing to the attention of responsible entities operations problems and/or inefficiencies.
  • Performs additional responsibilities as needed and/or outlined by MPS leadership.

Responsibilities

Considerable knowledge of evidence-based therapy protocols and current diagnostic processes.
2+ years post graduate clinical experience.
Clinical training must include instruction on chemical dependency, mental health, and brief therapy.
Must be able to provide accurate client assessment including diagnosis, level of risk, substance abuse, and create appropriate treatment plan.  
Competent in crisis intervention.
Demonstrate knowledge and expertise in solution-focused, brief therapy in outpatient setting.
Interact effectively at all levels both within the company and with external customers.
Use time to manage caseload and documentation effectively.
Meet productivity targets and quality management expectations.
Develop effective working relationships with peers within and across organizational lines.
Effectively resolves individual conflicts.
Supports MPS mission and keeps management informed of team issues.
Takes responsibility for own development and stays current on skills and techniques needed to perform job.
Flexible; adjust well to new situations and changing priorities.
Comfortable with ambiguity and stress while handling a variety of assignments.
Maintain a positive, achievement-oriented attitude and be consistent in accomplishing expected objectives
Knowledge of computers and Microsoft software products.
Knowledge of the standards and ethical principles for specific discipline.

Salary Minimum:

$58,440

Salary Maximum:

$93,500

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual's skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
