Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program with a Masters in Nursing.
Valid License as a Registered Nurse by the State of Arkansas and APRN License.
National Certification in Pediatric Acute Care.
Prescriptive authority and DEA license must be obtained after hire.

Responsibilities:
Identifies needs of the individual and family due to the patient interview (history) and physical exam.
Provides an acceptable plan of care that maximizes the patient’s health potential and takes into account; ordering of the appropriate diagnostic tests, identifying and prescribing appropriate pharmacological agents when needed as well as developing a plan for education of the patient and their family or caregiver.
Consult with supervising physician(s) and other health professionals when needed.
Obtain history and physical examination on inpatients.
Assess patient symptoms, vital signs, and nursing reports.
Order labs and radiographs while the patient is admitted to the hospital.
Enter nursing orders, prescribe medications, and perform bedside dressing changes and simple procedures to expedite patient care.
Organize discharge instructions, and prescriptions and coordinate follow-up appointments.
Expedite the start of surgical cases and the appropriate participation of the patient for surgery.
Educate the patient on the details of the surgery and post-operative management.
Provide patient and family with written post-operative and discharge instructions, prescriptions, and follow-up dates. Performs procedures on pediatric and adult plastic surgery patients under the supervision of the surgeon(s).
Participates in monthly plastic surgery conference/morbidity and mortality conference. Instruct residents, nurses, medical students, and physician assistant students; present clinical cases to appropriate members of the research and surgical teams.
Perform other duties as assigned.
