Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Databricks Administrator to oversee, manage, and optimize Databricks environments on Azure. The role involves administering Databricks workspaces, clusters, catalogs, and access controls while ensuring platform performance, stability, and security. The candidate will collaborate with infrastructure and IT teams, support automation initiatives, and provide operational support to L2 teams. Exposure to PostgreSQL administration and platform transition activities is an added advantage. Key Responsibilities: - Oversee and manage Databricks workspaces across environments - Create and manage schemas, volumes, catalogs, and service principals - Handle catalog-level and schema-level permissions - Define and manage cluster policies, monitor cluster usage, and address inactivity - Optimize Databricks performance and support preview versions - Deploy and manage Databricks resources using Databricks Asset Bundles - Provide operational and monitoring support to the L2 support team - Collaborate with ITT / infrastructure teams on Azure network and firewall maintenance - Develop and maintain automation scripts using PySpark and Terraform - Perform PostgreSQL administration including log monitoring, resource management, and routine maintenance - Manage PostgreSQL database object ownership and ensure database health - Support transition activities and knowledge transfer, ensuring correct start and end dates (e.g., Deepesh transition) - Document operational procedures, configurations, and best practices Technical Skills: - Databricks Administration (Workspaces, Clusters, Catalogs, Permissions) - Azure Cloud (Networking and Firewall basics) - PySpark - Terraform - Databricks Asset Bundles - PostgreSQL administration (basic) - Monitoring and performance optimization
