About the Role

Senior Claims Consultant to manage both property & liability claims. The purpose of this role is to provide a high level of claims management services to clients and brokers through consulting, advisory, advocacy and negotiation. Diligence around favorable financial outcomes, reducing claim amounts, risk mitigation and the recovery process are key in this role, as is taking ownership and the ability to make proactive decisions that drive outcomes.

Duties

Responsible for managing national Property Damage, Liability and ISR claims, you will liaise with clients, insurers, claimants and external providers, interpret policy wordings, analyse claims history data, arrange / conduct investigations and determine claim settlements for under-deductible claims.

Driving the settlement negotiation process and negotiating on behalf of the client you will acts as an advocate for the client and determine commercial / technical responses to insurer's denials of liability with a focus on achieving favorable outcomes for the client.

As part of the Client and Broker Service, you'll respond to queries, prepare routine and ad hoc reports including claims trends analysis and quarterly and / or annual claims reviews, attending client meetings and conducting training for clients as required.

Required Skills

  • At least 5 years' experience managing Liability claims in a Claims Consultant role, ideally in a commercial team focusing on large business and brokered clients nationally.  Some experience managing ISR claims would also be beneficial.
  • Educated to degree level or Diploma in Financial Services or a Law qualification
  • Strong understanding of national Claims Management and working within Client Service Agreements or Claims Unit standards.

  • Negotiation and influencing skills
  • Resilience and perseverance
  • Customer service and relationship building skills with an ability to work collaboratively to the mutual benefit of clients, brokers and the business due to absolute understanding of stakeholder needs
  • Alert to new and expanded business opportunities supporting these through provision of claims review data for tenders, renewals and proposals, and participation in client / prospect meetings and client / broker education presentations as required.
  • The ability to work effectively and take on leadership
