About you and this role

Dow Coating Materials (DCM) has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Technical Service & Development Specialist in the Architectural Coatings TS&D Team located in Collegeville, PA.  The Architectural Coatings TS&D Team focuses on the interface between the customer and Dow’s technology and product development to drive growth in Coatings business.

The Senior TS&D Specialist will partner with project teams, including application R&D, synthesis partners, technologists/technicians, and the sales and marketing team to drive currently existing and new products to customer adoption. As we are continuously working to evolve in leveraging digital capabilities to our work process and to promote our innovation products to the broad market, we are looking for an individual who has the passion to utilize the available digital tools and implement them into daily project management to support our business’ digital promotion strategy.

           

Primary Responsibilities will include:

  • Demonstrate and encourage a safe and inclusive work environment
  • Collaborate with the project teams, R&D, and commercial partners to drive the adoption of Dow products that solve market and customer needs
  • Analyze large data sets using analysis and visualization tools (Excel, Tableau, JMP etc.) to draw data-based conclusions and define clear value propositions for internal and external stakeholders
  • Prepare and present technical presentations internally and externally and properly document all learnings (Project Learnings and CRI reports)
  • Provide regular updates on project status and progress to customers, sales, marketing and other stakeholders
  • Working safely in an laboratory environment, actively participating in company safety programs.

  • Comfortable working as a part of project teams to achieve project goals and objectives
  • Strong scientific method, statistics and project management skills
  • Self-motivated individual with ability to handle multiple tasks and responsibilities

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E5 ranking or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant required. Degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or science related degree is preferred.
  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States.  No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related field is preferred.

  • Data Analysis – The ability to interpret large and complex datasets using tools like Excel, JMP, and Tableau to uncover insights, trends, and conclusions that support product development and stakeholder decision‑making.
  • Project Management – The skill of planning, organizing, and guiding innovation projects through the Stage Gate process, coordinating cross‑functional teams, and ensuring timely, high‑quality progress updates and deliverables.
  • Communication – The capability to clearly convey technical information through presentations, reports, and discussions, ensuring all stakeholders—including leadership, marketing, and customers—understand progress, findings, and value.
  • Chemistry / Chemical Engineering – Technical knowledge in chemistry or chemical engineering that supports developing, testing, and evaluating coatings technologies and conducting safe, effective laboratory work.
  • Adaptability – The ability to remain flexible, curious, and responsive to changing project needs, new data insights, and evolving digital tools, while continuously learning and adjusting approaches.
