The Home Buying team is building a brighter future for all by unlocking the dream of Home Ownership for all Australians. This is achieved through the end-to-end management of the Banks Home Loan business including distribution through proprietary and third-party channels, acquisition, retention, customer experience, risk, change and continuous improvement.
The Home Buying Manage & Own Crew is responsible for the in-life experience of our Home Loan customers ensuring customers maximise value from their loan and can seamlessly make changes when they need to. We support customers across all channels, Digital, Proprietary and Third Party Broker as well as our partners in the Group Operations Customer Retention team.
Always looking for exceeding customer expectations, this team focusses on building great customer experiences through latest tech stacks, data driven designs & looking to embark on its AI journey. You will be a Technology Leader, designing & implementing solutions as well as influencing & engaging your engineers, product owner & Crew Tech lead.
As a Staff Software Engineer you’ll be hands on with solution design, coding, deployment, testing and maintenance - you own what you build. This is an exciting opportunity to showcase your skills, influence the direct of tech and lead delivery which will directly impact our customers.
We support our people with the flexibility to balance where work is done with at least half your time each month connecting in office. We also have many other flexible working options available including changing start and finish times, part-time arrangements and job share to name a few.
We’re interested in hearing from people who
• Enthusiastic in engaging, designing, problem solving & taking ownership for Technology challenges
• Are Staff level software engineers experienced in the full software development lifecycle using Agile practices, DevSecOps
• Have expertise designing and building Core and Web API’s, web applications, running independent PoC’s
• Are confident in their solution design capabilities, stakeholder engagement and leading technical conversations in group forums
• Show the ability to collaborate, present ideas, influence, and challenge stakeholders.
• Actively are involved in continuous learning, experimentation and innovation, ready to apply and promote industry best patterns and practices
• Enjoy mentoring and developing more junior engineers
• Ability to identify, lead and creatively solve for technical challenges which will help us achieve customer goals
Skills
We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team;
• Full stack - React, Angular, Next JS and knowledge/experience using event driven architecture and patterns such as Kafka
• AWS or Azure
• CI/CD Tools – Team City, Jenkins, Octopus or GitHub Actions etc
• Observability tools such as Splunk, Observe, Prometheus & Grafana
• Containerization using dockers
• API Design and Development
• .NET core 6 or 8
• Experience in System Design
