GIS Specialist
Abu Dhabi
 

Parsons is seeking a skilled GIS Specialist to support our GIS Team across infrastructure, utilities, and urban development projects in Abu Dhabi.
The position involves applying advanced GIS principles, spatial data management, and BIM/GIS integration techniques to deliver high-quality geospatial deliverables supporting multidisciplinary design teams.
This role combines technical execution, data governance, and collaboration across digital platforms to ensure accuracy, consistency, and innovation in GIS workflows.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Work on geospatial analysis and data management tasks that directly support engineering and planning teams.

• Maintain and enhance geodatabases and data models using ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Enterprise.

• Support BIM–GIS integration using Civil 3D, InfraWorks, and Revit to ensure spatial alignment with design models.

• Use FME and Python (ArcPy) to automate data workflows, improve efficiency, and ensure data accuracy.

• Develop interactive dashboards and web applications using ArcGIS Dashboards and Experience Builder.

• Conduct QA/QC checks, topology validation, and metadata preparation to keep our datasets clean and authoritative.

• Collaborate daily with engineers, planners, and other GIS professionals to ensure all spatial data meets project and client standards.

• Support field data collection and validation using Survey123, Field Maps, and related mobile applications.

• Help improve internal GIS workflows and documentation, and occasionally guide junior team members.

What required skills you’ll bring

• A Bachelor’s Degree in GIS, Geography, Geomatics, Engineering, or Computer Science.
  (Master’s preferred)

• 6+ years of hands-on GIS experience, ideally in infrastructure, utilities, or master planning projects.

• Working knowledge of ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise/Online, FME, and data collection tools.

• Familiarity with BIM–GIS integration workflows and common formats (DWG, IFC, GDB).

• Strong understanding of spatial analysis, coordinate systems, and projection management.

• Comfortable working with SQL Server or PostGIS, and skilled in automating processes through Python or FME.

• Solid communication and coordination skills — you’ll be working closely with engineers, planners, and survey teams.

• Awareness of Abu Dhabi authority standards, including AD-SDI, USDM, and ADQCC specifications.
