Position Overview:

Autodesk is looking for a Sr Engineering Manager to lead a team of software engineers, architects and project managers within Autodesk Construction Solution (ACS) Division in India. You'll work in a fast-paced, cross-functional and highly collaborative environment alongside forward-thinking colleagues who are equally excited and passionate about the value that modern cutting edge technologies like Cloud, machine learning and analytics can bring to the business and to our customers

As a Sr Engineering Manager, you will need to develop technical and organizational expertise with the ACS suite of products and drive the projects to completion on time with quality. You will be responsible for leading day-to-day operations of the engineering teams, as well as collaborating with Product, customer success and Sales teams on roadmaps and long-term goals. Other responsibilities include: hiring, communication with upper management, development of direct reports, and collaboration with peer managers to improve our engineering culture and current processes. We are looking for someone who thrives on autonomy and has experience driving long-term projects to completion.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of experienced and motivated engineers, architects, project managers to build industry-leading products with in ACS division.

  • Adhere to coding guidelines as prescribed by the company and ensure it is strictly followed with in the team.

  • Actively engage with Project managers to make sure all the releases are being properly tracked and documented properly in JIRA.

  • Make sure all the design/solution approach for all the data projects are well documented in JIRA

  • Actively engage with QA managers and ensure to have a proper test plan and execution towards maximum test coverage.

  • Strive for test automation wherever possible to optimize the overall project execution time.

  • Keen focus on the quality and high levels of code coverage by employing automation at all levels within the team. E.g. driving teams in writing JUnits, API automation, functional scripts.

  • Coach and mentor engineers within the team as well as partner with engineers across the supply chain to share successful architectural patterns

  • Ensure best engineering practices are being followed through the development life cycle. Well versed with agile development methodology.

  • Actively work with product management team, business leaders and other stakeholders to understand the business requirements and transform them in to engineering requirements

  • Collaborate with DevOps engineers to setup the necessary QA, staging and production environments to testing/release the features.

  • Regular updates and presentations of executive summary to the upper management.

  • Always have an eye towards cutting edge emerging data science technologies and leverage the same as needed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s/bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent from a reputed institution

  • 12 + years of experience in software development and people management

  • Solid experience in managing large teams and ability to manage multiple product releases.

  • Expertise in working across efficient Cross GEO teams.

  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills

  • Well versed with NodeJS/ReactJS based tech stacks with good awareness on cloud technologies.

  • Ability to work with a team in an Agile environment.

  • Ability to deal with the conflicts within the team.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to converse fluently with multiple types of audiences ranging from engineering & product managers, Sr architects and UX designers.

  • Familiarity with service monitoring tools like new relic or equivalent and ability to find root cause, set alerts & navigate through logs.
