Job Description Summary:

The University of Kansas Health System, Department of Neurology, is seeking a general neurologist to join its dynamic team and support the departmental mission of delivering the highest quality of care. Candidates fresh out of training as well as experienced candidates are welcome to apply.

In this role, candidates will diagnose, treat, and manage neurology patients in an ambulatory setting. They will share on-call coverage with other neurologists, maintaining a balanced lifestyle.

In this role, candidates will diagnose, treat, and manage neurology patients in an inpatient setting. They provide care and consultative services of acute neurological disorders. Schedules are structured with on a “7 days on/7 days off” model with the option for additional shifts per month or outpatient clinic for additional compensation. Candidates may be involved with clinical teaching and research if desired. Responsibilities also include duties assigned by the Department Chair or that are otherwise typically expected of a physician in the Department.

Job Duties

  • Provide care for neurology patients in the inpatient setting.
  • Diagnose, treat, and manage these patients in the hospital and on call.
  • Participate in on-call coverage.
  • Educate medical students, residents, and fellows in patient care settings in formal and informal group education formats.
  • Minimally participate in scholarly activity derived from clinical activities.
  • Perform other duties as directed by supervisor.

Required Qualifications

Education: MD/DO 

Licensure or Certifications:

·         Eligible for licensure in Kansas

·         Board-Eligible or Certified in Neurology

Experience:

·         Neurology Residency training
