Job Description

RESPONSABILITIES / FUNCTIONS:

Organization, Plan and control:

  • Assist in Automation Projects: Support senior engineers in designing, implementing, and maintaining automation systems for material handling, assembly, and plastic processing operations.
  • System Setup & Testing: Help configure, test, and validate automated equipment to ensure proper functionality and compliance with specifications.
  • Create detailed specifications for automation hardware and software, including robotics, PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), SCADA systems, and vision systems.
  • Documentation: Prepare and maintain accurate records of automation processes, equipment settings, and troubleshooting steps according to ISO 13485
  • Collaborate with R&D teams to ensure automation solutions align with product design and manufacturing requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for automation to improve manufacturing efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for new automation projects.
  • Optimize existing automated processes to increase throughput and reduce downtime.
  • Develop project plans, including timelines, task dependencies, and critical paths.

 Communications:

  • Interaction with the different departments related to Engineering.

    Employee Relationship:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including quality assurance, production, and maintenance, EHS to ensure seamless integration of automation systems.
  • Provide technical support and training to production staff on the operation and maintenance of automated equipment.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and contractors for the procurement and installation of automation systems.

 Health and Safety:

  • Follow the appropriate techniques of safety during the use of tooling and/or equipment, showing responsibility in any activity inside the facility installations.

Quality Systems:

  • Follow the procedures established by the Quality department and comply with the company's quality system training.

EDUCATION/ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS: Experience:

  • Intermediate to advanced conversational English.

Academic requierements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.

REQUIRED SKILLS: Technical Skills

  • Lean Manufacturing
  • Knowledge on ISO 13485 (preferred)
  • Knowledge on SAP according to the profile (preferred)
  • Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley).
  • Knowledge of robotics, vision systems, and motion control systems.
  • Experience with CAD software for system design.
  • Experience on implementation of mechanic, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
