Job Description

Job Responsibilities:
• Collaborates with the scrum team to finalize the design of user stories, ensuring they align with the overall architecture and development goals, and takes part in code reviews and maintaining code quality.
• Provides continuous guidance and coaching to the scrum team on design knowledge and best practices, and might participate in code development activities to uphold high standards of software quality.
• Possesses a comprehensive understanding of software development and design principles, which enables effective problem-solving and innovative solutions within the development team.
• Demonstrates basic knowledge of healthcare standards and protocols such as DICOM and HL7, relevant to the business domain, enhancing the integration and compliance of the software solutions.
• Engages with team-level stakeholders, including Senior Software Architects and the Product Owners, to ensure clear communication and effective collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
• Focuses on the integration and functionality of components within the larger system architecture, ensuring that each part contributes effectively to the overall system performance.
• Plans Program Increments (PI) with a typical time horizon of three months, which involves detailed scheduling, resource allocation, and strategic progress towards achieving development targets.
• Holds responsibility for architecture and requirements at the feature level, ensuring they meet the desired outcomes, quality standards, and stakeholder expectations within the broader project context.
• Ensures comprehensive, up-to-date, and usable documentation of the software architecture in compliance with regulatory standards and organizational processes.
• Understands and effectively applies the development logic of the I2M architecture and platform creation process, ensuring seamless interfacing with Application Development (AD) and Product Data Lifecycle Management (PDLM) suites.
 

Job Responsibilities

  • Architect and implement AWS-based solutions for Acute Care and Clinical Informatics products (IBE 3.0, CIM, DCP, PIPS, ESP, ICR, ISCV, ISECG, PICIX).
  • Ensure compliance with Philips’ cloud security, privacy, and regulatory standards (HIPAA, HITRUST, EU Sovereign Cloud).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (DevOps, DataOps, SRE) to optimise cloud performance and cost.
  • Drive automation using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform.
  • Support migration strategies from on-prem to cloud and hybrid environments.

Minimum Required Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

Minimum Required Experience

  • 10+ years in IT architecture, with at least 5 years in AWS cloud architecture.
  • Proven experience in healthcare or regulated environments preferred.

Minimum Required Certification

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional (SAP-C02) or Associate (SAA-C03). Philips reimburses certification costs upon completion of internal training paths

Preferred Skills

  • Expertise in AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudFormation).
  • Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with Philips HealthSuite and interoperability standards.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Role focus: drive cloud transformation, build/maintain scalable, secure, cost‑effective cloud infra with Terraform and AWS, enable faster reliable delivery.
  • Cloud Responsibilities: CI/CD automation; deployment tooling on‑prem & cloud; developer support; pipeline administration & automated verification; environment/tooling improvements; lead best‑practice adoption incl. cloud transition.
  • Minimums: relevant bachelor’s degree; 5+ years hands‑on DevOps in enterprise; scripting (**PowerShell/C#/**Python); containers (Docker/K8s); PaaS (Cloud Foundry) with AWS; CI/CD experience.
  • Interoperability Responsibilities: interface design/development; integration projects; source code/versioning; HL7/FHIR/DICOM/IHE standards; support/on‑call; deliverables on time/budget/quality; recommend integration best practices.
  • Skills: 4–8 yrs Rhapsody (Lyniate) integration; Core Java/JavaScript; healthcare interoperability; networking/protocols (TCP/IP, FTP/SFTP/HTTP/S); XML/SOAP/JSON/REST; SQL; EMR/PACS integration; Windows/Cloud networking knowledge.
  • Define target/reference architectures and migration patterns for AWS across EI products; drive IaC (Terraform/CloudFormation), containers/Kubernetes, CI/CD.
  • Ensure compliance-by‑design (HIPAA/HITRUST; Philips Cloud/Security policies); partner with Security, SRE, DevOps for observability, reliability, and cost optimization.
  • Lead cloud integration with IBE on cloud and interoperability across Acute Care applications; support hybrid/on‑prem transitions.

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week.
Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities.
Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.
