Purpose of the role
The Recovery Technician is responsible for pursuing assigned Recovery/Subrogation opportunities and to maximise revenue received from liable third parties who are wholly and/or share liability for damages paid to Insureds by AIG whilst minimising incurred expenses. This will primarily focus on subrogation activities but could also include pursuit of Deductibles and management of vehicle salvage sales.
How you'll make an impact
Reviewing of claim files to determine if successful recovery is feasible including investigations and evaluation of liability issues and the proactive follow up with all relevant parties.
Telephone negotiation with third parties to establish/negotiate liability and quantum decisions within agreed handling authority, across all lines of business; to be able to document and articulate reasons for the agreed decision, including relevant case law and economic considerations.
To be aware of and protect AIG and customers’ interests, including handling conflicts of interest and anticipating and raising awareness of issues that may impact the business.
Training of claims personnel in recovery recognition and procedures.
Provide support to wider Recovery activities to include management of vehicle salvage sales and insured deductibles.
Taking and reviewing referrals from other members within the Recovery Team.
What you'll need to succeed
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Confident telephone manner
Proven liability negotiation skills
Excellent knowledge of MS Office
Exceptional customer service skills
Good organisational skills
Comprehensive end-to-end understanding and/or claims handling experience
Previous recovery experience is desirable
