The Opportunity 

 

The Senior Engineer, CAD is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the methods, operational sequences, and processes for manufacturing and fabricating parts, components, and assemblies. This role serves as a key interface with the design engineering team to coordinate the release of new products. Key duties include estimating manufacturing costs, determining time standards, and recommending tooling and process requirements for both new and existing product lines. The position also involves maintaining records and reporting systems to ensure the smooth coordination of all manufacturing operations. 

 

What You Will Do 

  • Thorough understanding of drafting PCB layout and design requirements, constraints manager, layer stack-up creation, location of tolerances, dimensions, notes, and methods of incorporating engineering changes into existing designs and their documentation
  • Prepares formal schematic diagrams, assemblies and component part views from verbal or written instructions
  • Creates electronic schematics, PCB layout and symbol library (if needed) on a given timeline
  • Modifies existing drawings to create/incorporate revisions, and initiates engineering change notices
  • Converts the PCB design to Gerber data and prepares fabrication files to be send to PCB house, as per commit date
  • Performs quality check and approve final designs prior PCB fabrication.
  • Trains and supervises CAD Engineer associates on Altium software and usage, design process, good design techniques and effective practices.
  • Bachelors Degree in Electronics / Electrical or Equivalent CAD Layout/Schematic Capture Experience
  • 8-10 years of hands-on experience in hardware design— schematic capture and PCB design
  • Proficient in PCB design using Altium Designer is preferred.
  • Knowledge in Cadence Allegro platform would be advantageous
  • Know-how on AutoCAD platform would be advantageous
  • Proficient in component datasheets and BOM generation
  • Generation of Gerber files and Test Equipment Documentation
  • Depth knowledge in PCB fabrication processes and PCB Design for Excellence-DFx

Who You Are

  • A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent, coupled with 3-5 years of industry experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the semiconductor industry.
  • Strong knowledge of Project Management, Planning, Product Development, Probe Test, Final Test, and Qualification and Reliability processes
