This role is part of Alcon's Engineering function, a team focused on improving quality, processes, products, packaging and materials across our business to help deliver brilliant outcomes.The Associate, Mechatronics Design Engineering, is primarily responsible for assisting in mechatronics engineering tasks, supporting the design, testing, and development of integrated mechanical, electrical, and software systems. You will work closely with engineers to analyze system performance, refine designs, and troubleshoot issues, applying engineering principles to enhance automation and intelligent systems.

Specifics Include:

  • Design and build the production equipment for the production line
  • Strong experience in Solidwork (CAD program) in drawing skills  
  • Strong knowledge in GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
  • Supplier management i.e. has the ability to discuss with the supplier about critical feature and how they are going to achieve the results
  • Has a hands on approach and is willing to build the designs and troubleshoot
  • Has a manufacturing background
  • Knowledge of Safety of Machinery Standards
  • Assist in mechatronics engineering tasks, supporting the design, testing, and development of integrated mechanical, electrical, and software systems
  • Work closely with engineers to analyze system performance, refine designs, and troubleshoot issues
  • Apply engineering principles to improve automation and intelligent systems
  • Adhere to GxP regulations by strictly following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Maintain accurate and complete documentation
  • Ensure rigorous quality control and complete all required training

Experience:

  • MTO (small to medium) experience – optical industry is ideal,
  • 5 years' experience in designing equipment for high precision alignment
  • Knowledgeable in Solidwork (CAD program) and electrical engineering
  • Mechatronics background is considered highly beneficial.
  • Commitment to compliance, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong communication and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
