Job Summary

Mass General Brigham's Business Intelligence Developer is responsible for designing and delivering data-motivated solutions that support operational and strategic decision-making across the organization. They collaborate with stakeholders to understand reporting needs, develop dashboards and data models, and ensure data accuracy through validation and reconciliation processes. BI Developers play a key role in promoting self-service analytics, contributing to data governance efforts, and improving outcomes by delivering accessible, reliable, and actionable insights.

Essential Functions:

- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality dashboards, reports, and data models that support business and operational needs.

- Collaborate with stakeholders in an iterative development process to refine data visualizations and improve usability.

- Develop curated datasets and semantic models to enable enterprise reporting and self-service analytics.

- Retrieve, prepare, and transform data from various enterprise data sources to support analysis and reporting.

- Conduct data validation and reconciliation to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of reporting outputs.

- Apply leading practices in data modeling, visualization design, and performance optimization across business intelligence environments.

- Perform quality assurance reviews to ensure deliverables meet reporting standards and business requirements.

- Partner with data analysts, engineers, and technical teams to address data sourcing, integration, and modeling needs

- Support the adoption of business intelligence tools by providing documentation, training, and user support.

- Performs other duties as assigned

- Complies with all policies and standards


 

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems or a related field of study required
  • 2-3 years experience of designing reports and dashboards using Tableau and other data visualization tools required
  • Experience of programming languages and/or statistical software (SQL, SAS, Python, or R) preferred

    Education and Experience:

    • Ability to function effectively and independently in a fast-paced environment, organize and prioritize work independently, and meet tight deadlines.
    • Possess proficient interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with cross-functional teams, including staff at all levels of the organization.
    • Practical problem-solving abilities, i.e., the ability to formulate hypotheses and test options.
    • Proficient in visualization and usability design skills.
    • Intermediate SQL skills.
    • Tableau certification(s) a plus.
