Treasury Controls Office’s vision statement is to enhance the success of Group Treasury through safeguarding our business, providing insights and expertise, and delivering simple and innovative solutions. The Treasury Controls Office provides direct support to the Group Treasurer and the broader Group Treasury (GT) Teams through pro-active and best in class non-financial risk management, focused on Operational Risk and Compliance Risk.  The Treasury Controls Office is subdivided into two teams: Line 1 Operational Risk and Regulatory Conduct and Compliance Risk. Together we focus on:

  • Delivery of process improvements and productivity initiatives

  • Co-ordinating and embedding the CBA Group Operational, Compliance, and Conduct Risk frameworks for Group Treasury

  • Providing advice, support and guidance to the Group Treasury business to align their activities to the effective management of non-financial risks

  • Change management, including impact assessment and implementation and,

  • Coordination of new product approval sign-off for Treasury products and other new products requiring Treasury sign-off.

Do work that matters

Your primary focus as a Senior Analyst in the Regulatory Compliance and Conduct Risk team will be risk management activities for Group Treasury compliance and conduct risk types.

More specifically, you will:

  • Assist in maintaining a strong GT governance framework through involvement in policy implementation, control performance, simplification of standard operating procedures, peer training and education sessions and stakeholder engagement

  • Understand the end-to-end risk and control framework for Group Treasury and proactively identify areas for enhancement

  • Contribute to the Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RSCA) and Compliance Self-Assessment (CSA) processes

  • Contribute to monitoring and implementing regulatory change across Group Treasury ensuring obligations are understood and adequate arrangements are put in place to demonstrate compliance and,

  • Co-ordination of regulatory matters and remediation programs covering ASIC, ASX, APRA, CFTC and NFA

We would love to hear from people who have:

  • Demonstrated experience in operational risk and compliance within banking and financial services

  • Knowledge of banking regulatory requirements, compliance and risk management frameworks

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills including development of policy and procedural documents and the ability to distil complex themes into clear, articulate presentations

  • Sound analytical skills with the ability to use tools (e.g. Alteryx) to develop process improvements

  • Ability to identify trends, patterns, and insights from quantitative and qualitative data

  • Clear written communication to write and distil policy documents

  • Problem solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement – ability to identify opportunities, remediate problems and issues and recommend appropriate actions dealing with the underlying root causes

  • Commitment and willingness to actively contribute to a strong team culture and,
