About the Role
As a Requirements Management Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the integrity, traceability, and compliance of requirements throughout the product development lifecycle. You will be responsible for driving requirements engineering activities across multiple domains, including Functional Safety, Systems Engineering, Compliance, Project Management, Hardware, and Mechanics.
This role leverages your expertise in requirements management processes, ASPICE compliance, and requirements management tools to establish and maintain end-to-end traceability, support project stakeholders, and ensure high-quality requirements throughout development. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to support planning, analysis, implementation, verification, and compliance activities.
You will report directly to the Requirements Management Manager, contributing to initiatives that improve requirements quality, process compliance, traceability effectiveness, and development efficiency across automotive projects.
What You Will Do
Independently manage requirements engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring alignment with project-specific processes and ASPICE requirements.
Own the setup, maintenance, and continuous improvement of IBM ALM DNG infrastructure, including formal modules, link structures, baselines, and traceability models.
Manage the import, maintenance, distribution, and export of customer requirements while ensuring data integrity and consistency across all project stakeholders.
Establish and maintain complete traceability between customer, system, safety, hardware, software, and verification requirements.
Coordinate requirements analysis activities with Functional Safety Managers, System Architects, Project Managers, Hardware Leads, Mechanical Leads, and other stakeholders.
Clarify ambiguous, incomplete, or conflicting requirements with internal teams and external customers to ensure a common understanding and successful implementation.
Monitor, analyze, and report requirements quality, traceability coverage, review status, and compliance metrics.
Lead formal reviews of requirements modules and support preparation for ASPICE assessments, customer audits, and certification activities.
Identify opportunities to improve requirements management processes, methodologies, and tool usage, contributing to continuous process improvement initiatives.
Solve moderately complex requirements management challenges with minimal guidance while supporting and mentoring colleagues on best practices and process compliance.
What You Need to Be Successful
Advanced understanding of requirements engineering principles, traceability concepts, and requirements lifecycle management within automotive development environments.
3–5 years of hands-on experience with requirements management tools such as IBM DOORS or IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management (DNG) in production projects.
Strong knowledge of requirements management processes, configuration management principles, baselining strategies, and change management practices.
Working knowledge of Automotive SPICE® processes and their application within product development projects.
Good understanding of embedded systems development and systems engineering principles.
Proven ability to manage complex requirements structures, maintain end-to-end traceability, and support cross-functional development teams.
Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving capabilities, and attention to detail when dealing with large and complex requirements datasets.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
A proactive mindset, ownership mentality, and continuous improvement approach to requirements engineering activities.
Bonus Points if You Have
Experience supporting Functional Safety (ISO 26262) requirements management activities.
Experience with compliance, homologation, or certification-related requirements.
Knowledge of RFI/RFQ processes and customer requirements acquisition activities.
Experience participating in ASPICE assessments or process improvement initiatives.
Familiarity with automation, scripting, or reporting solutions within requirements management environments.
Experience collaborating with international teams across multiple development sites.
What Makes You Eligible
You are fluent in English and capable of communicating complex technical ideas to diverse audiences.
You are based in or near Bucharest, with the ability to work in a hybrid setup.
