Role purpose

12-month contract role - open to either part time (minimum 3 days) or full time applicants

Support the delivery of Vicinity’s ESG roadmap focussed on delivery of our modern slavery program and reporting

At Vicinity Centres, we’re committed to creating long-term value for our communities, partners and stakeholders. Working closely with internal stakeholders and external partners, the role has a particular focus on supporting and strengthening Vicinity’s modern slavery program. 

The role also supports ESG data collection, analysis and business reporting. 

The Opportunity 

This is a high-impact role supporting the delivery of Vicinity’s ESG roadmap, with a particular focus on strengthening our modern slavery program, governance and reporting 

This role offers the opportunity to drive practical, business-aligned outcomes that contribute to long-term social impact and ensure compliance with regulatory obligations. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Work with internal teams to lead the implementation of Vicinity’s modern slavery strategy and program including supplier due diligence, risk assessments and worker voice grievance mechanisms. 

  • Manage the development of Vicinity’s Annual Modern Slavery Statement, ensuring accuracy, integrity and alignment to legislative requirements. 

  • Partner with Procurement, Risk and other business stakeholders to embed modern slavery controls and practices into day-to-day operations. 

  • Coordinate preparation of ESG disclosures for the Modern Slavery Statement and Annual Report, including liaising with internal business units to oversee data collation and validation . 

  • Work with key stakeholders to support the uplift and implementation of Indigenous procurement initiatives 

  • Collaborate across the business to embed ESG considerations into procurement and operational processes. 

  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of policies, frameworks and governance practices. 

 

Key Relationships 

You will work closely with a broad stakeholder group including: 

  • ESG and Sustainability, Procurement, Risk & Compliance, Legal and People 

  • Operations and Development teams 

  • Senior leadership and external industry bodies 

 

About You 

You’re a commercially minded ESG and sustainability professional who brings a strong understanding of modern slavery risk and governance practices and programs within a large organisation along with broader sustainability and ESG reporting frameworks. 

You will bring: 

  • Experience in managing or facilitating modern slavery programs, including supplier due diligence, risk assessments and reporting, in a large commercial organisation. 

  • A strong understanding of ESG risks, opportunities and commercial drivers. 

  • Experience contributing to ESG reporting and disclosures, including data collection and validation. 

  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively across business functions.  

  • Excellent analytical, communication and project management capability, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
