Who We're Looking For

We are currently looking to hire a Veterinary Assistant/Technician to join our team! The ideal candidate will be a dependable, detail-oriented team player who loves animals and being part of a fun, supportive team. They will have experience rooming patients, surgical assisting experience and knowledge of equipment used, drawing blood and running bloodwork, knowledge of x-ray and proper positioning, experience with proper animal handling and restraint, understanding the importance of client education, and being a positive and motivating team member.

• Pay: $18.93 - $22.00 per hour
• Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
• Saturday availability

Duties:

- Assist veterinarians in providing medical care to animals
- Perform routine procedures such as vaccinations, blood draws, and dental cleanings
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Monitor and record vital signs of animals during procedures and treatments
- Prepare animals for surgery and assist during surgical procedures
- Perform laboratory tests and analyze results
- Maintain accurate records of patient care and treatment plans
- Provide compassionate care to animals and their owners

Experience:
- Previous experience as a veterinary assistant or technician preferred
- Proficiency in animal handling and restraint techniques
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology and medical procedures
- Familiarity with veterinary critical care practices
- Ability to handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments
- Experience with animal catheterization is a plus
- Knowledge of laboratory procedures and equipment is beneficial
- Experience in pet grooming or pet sitting is a bonus
