EMEA Financial Solutions Products are a key aspect in RGA’s long-term growth. The incumbent will be a key player in supporting the sustainable growth of the EMEA business, ensuring that the business is managed effectively and within RGA standards.


The incumbent is responsible for:

  • Effective In-Force management of Asset Intensive, Longevity and Capital Solutions products
  • Driving efficiencies in FS products and processes
  • Leveraging the value in the in-force, through actionable analytics and business insights
  • Supporting new business growth and renewals

Principle Duties

Inforce Management

  • Data, Experience and Performance Analysis
    • Identify and analyze the impact of data changes in the inforce file, and work with clients to establish revised premium and financial settlement
    • Conduct mortality and lapse experience analyses and leverage insights to propose appropriate changes to best estimate, pricing and collateral assumptions
    • Develop performance and trend metrics for inforce asset intensive, longevity and capital solutions transactions
  • Retrocession management
  • Manage internal/external retrocession arrangements, providing required reporting to retro partners, ensuring compliance with treaty terms
  • Asset Liability Management
  • Liaise with the Portfolio Management, Risk, and Corporate ALM teams, providing target duration recommendations, including ongoing ALM profile monitoring

Risk Management

  • New Business Support
  • Review the treaty documents for new or amended transactions, providing feedback/recommendations to support deal teams in treaty negotiations and to mitigate risk, escalating as necessary
  • Leading renewals and non-pricing amendments for financial solutions transactions
  • Maintain and enhance inforce guidelines outlining acceptable terms, negotiation options and escalation points for new and renewal financial solutions transactions

Strategic Projects

  • Actively participate in key initiatives for the team, such as balance sheet optimization initiatives, automation, and experience analysis enhancements.
  • Promote innovation within in-force Financial Solutions processes to enhance scalability and strengthen controls by leveraging database technology and Power BI dashboards.

Leadership and Coaching

  • Manage co-op student in support of department goals and objectives
  • Support development of junior staff and drive team engagement

Education, Experience and Skills

Required:

  • Fellowship or close to fellowship in a recognized actuarial organization (FSA, FIA, FCAS, FIAA) preferred
  • 6+ years’ experience
  • Undergraduate degree in related field
  • Advanced experience in actuarial modelling software such as Prophet and/or AXIS, Excel, Power BI, coding (Python, VBA, R), and database applications (SQL)
  • Advanced knowledge of life, health, and/or annuity products
  • Experience with longevity and asset intensive product lines
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills, whereby complex and technical information can be conveyed in a way that is meaningful by all stakeholders, including senior management
  • Advanced interpersonal skills, demonstrating the ability to work effectively with different stakeholders and disciplines across the company, including local offices, pricing, finance, treasury, valuation, investments, administration as well as external customers
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment
  • Strong service and result orientation and a drive to make a difference.
  • Ability to operate at both strategic and detailed levels, anticipate future needs, be proactive and adjust to constant change

Preferred:

  • Previous reinsurance and valuation work experience
  • Knowledge of IFRS, LDTI, Solvency 2
  • Advanced modelling and technical skills, including database applications, spreadsheets and statistical programs
  • Experience with people management and the ability to lead/influence people who may not have a direct reporting relationship

Compensation Range:

$115,700.00 - $144,650.00 Annual

Base pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and market location. In addition, RGA provides an annual bonus plan that includes all roles and some positions are eligible for participation in our long-term equity incentive plan. RGA also maintains a full range of health, retirement, and other employee benefits.
