JOB SUMMARY:
Vertex is seeking an ETL Developer to design, build, and support scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Snowflake with strong emphasis on Data Vault modeling.
The role supports the Customer 360 program by delivering trusted, auditable, and scalable data foundations. The developer partners with Data Architects, Analytics Engineers, and Platform Leads to ensure alignment and delivery excellence.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
ETL / ELT Development
Design, build, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory.
Ingest data from APIs, files, and databases into Snowflake.
Implement ELT transformations using Snowflake SQL aligned to Data Vault standards.
Optimize pipelines for performance, scalability, and reliability.
Data Vault Modeling
Implement Data Vault 2.0 models including Hubs, Links, and Satellites.
Support historization, auditability, and schema evolution.
Collaborate with architects to map source systems to Data Vault.
Support downstream Business Vault and marts.
Snowflake Development
Develop and manage Snowflake tables, views, schemas, tasks, streams, and stored procedures.
Tune SQL transformations for performance.
Implement data access controls and security best practices.
Data Quality, Monitoring & Operations
Implement data quality checks, reconciliation, and exception handling.
Monitor ADF pipelines and troubleshoot issues.
Support incident resolution and root cause analysis.
Delivery & Collaboration
Own assigned ETL and Data Vault components end-to-end.
Participate in Agile ceremonies and technical reviews.
Collaborate with architects, analytics, AI, and C360 teams.
Maintain technical documentation and reusable assets.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Technical Expertise
2–5 years ETL/data engineering experience.
Hands-on Azure Data Factory experience.
Strong Snowflake SQL, ELT patterns, and performance tuning.
Data Vault methodology including Hubs, Links, Satellites, Raw Vault, Business Vault.
Familiarity with Git and CI/CD.
Experience in Agile environments.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills
Azure Blob Storage / Data Lake experience.
Experience with dbt or similar frameworks.
Exposure to Snowflake Streams & Tasks.
Experience with incremental ingestion patterns.
Support for Customer 360, analytics, or AI workloads.
Azure or Snowflake certifications.
Soft Skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to independently deliver assigned components.
Clear communication across distributed teams.
Attention to detail and focus on data lineage and auditability.


EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (required).
