Job Description Summary:

This opportunity provides a unique and challenging role that will get exposure to month-end close general ledger processes, responsible for identifying and driving GL process improvement and working on special GL transformation projects.

  • Assist in the oversight of day-to-day team operations including assisting with month-end close processes, management of outsourced accounting provider, set-up of new legal entities, and disposition/closure of entities. 
  • Work with a high degree of initiative to analyze current state GL processes to identify and recommend process improvement opportunities within various GL functions such as payroll, fixed assets, prepaids and general accounting.
  • Work with our outsourced accounting provider to walkthrough new or existing accounting processes from beginning to end and update or develop robust process documentation.
  • Lead special projects by partnering cross-functionally with various business functions such as Tax, Treasury and other operational accounting teams. Current/Past projects include the following; Enhancing end-to-end balance sheet account reconciliation processes, Integration of new processes to our outsourced accounting provider and Automating month-end close processes, etc.
  • Actively participate in Finance Transformation Projects such as the implementation of a new ERP system (SAP S4 HANA). Responsibilities include assisting various team leads and/or help with S4 project deliverables, lead GL related rationalization and simplification efforts to facilitate more efficient financial statement analysis and reporting and redesign certain month-end close processes such as FX remeasurement.

Required Skills:

  • Solid understanding of US GAAP or IFRS accounting principles, SOX internal controls, and accounting ERP systems in order to identify improvements and efficiencies in these areas
  • Strong verbal, written to articulate ideas and plans clearly and effectively, form conclusions and present findings.
  • Ability to apply critical thinking / professional skepticism to analyze current state processes and identify areas for improvement.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires juggling of multiple responsibilities with competing deadlines.  
  • Self-starter with the drive to identify new projects and areas for change and improvement.
  • Experience with ERP and accounting tools; SAP, SAP BW and Blackline
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookups and other advanced functions

Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of accounting/ finance experience such as knowledge with general ledger accounting and core financial processes (order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, record-to-report, etc.).
  • CPA preferred.
  • Public Accounting experience preferred. (ideally a combination of big 4 and industry background).
  • Experience working in a large multi-national company preferred

$52800 to $136510
