Job Description

Financial Risk Review (FRR) Asset Liability Management (ALM) team performs independent review of the interest rate risk, liquidity risk, investment portfolio, and fund transfer pricing practices. The scope of review includes adherence to regulatory guidance, consistency with internal policies, and alignment with industry practices. We are seeking an experienced senior manager that has strong knowledge of these topics, risk management, and regulatory expectation at large financial institutions.

Summary Responsibilities

  • Evaluates interest rate risk, investment portfolio, balance sheet swaps and fund transfer practices methodologies, approaches and assumptions.
  • Evaluate balance sheet strategies to mitigate interest rate, liquidity, and capital risks.
  • Maintain an effective Continuous Monitoring program and proactively assess and identify existing and emerging risks and help ensure that they are measured, monitored, and managed effectively.
  • Keep abreast of industry best practices, regulatory guidance, financial market conditions and apply to the oversight of risk management activities.
  • Develop independent review scope and approach and produce succinct written annual assessments of risk management activities.
  • Identify gaps, weaknesses, and opportunities for strengthening practices and inform solutions that minimize risks.
  • Interact effectively with treasury, risk management, model governance, audit, regulators, and senior management and develop rapport and credibility in order to drive improvements.

Job requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Financial Risk Management, or a related field; CFA a plus
  • 7 plus years of experience in financial risk management
  • 7 plus years of experience in banking, financial services or related industry
  • Proficient computer navigation skills using a variety of software packages, including Microsoft Office applications and word processing, spreadsheets, databases (Access Database, SQL Server, Oracle), and presentations.
  • Excellent presentation, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Considerable knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, financial services, and regulatory trends related to interest rate risk management
  • Considerable understanding of the business line's operations, products/services and systems
  • Strong process facilitation, project management, and analytical skills

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $129,455.00 - $152,300.00 - $167,530.00
