The Marketing Data Analyst is an experienced technical professional with a background in SQL, complex query construction, and in-depth segmentation analysis. Primary focus areas will include Core and Mid-Level Fundraising, Biomedical Donors and Sponsors, and Planned Giving as well as cross-LOB and enterprise campaign effectiveness. Primary collaborators will include program, segment, and channel owners in the lines of business (internal customers), our IT partners, and colleagues in the Marketing & Communications Dept. and the Marketing Optimization and Data Strategy (MODS) Team. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical skill set and the willingness and capacity to immerse themselves in our business processes and data ecosystem.

Perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with standard operating procedures and other applicable Federal, State and local regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Scopes and conducts analyses to identify areas for improving marketing effectiveness and cost efficiencies through financial modeling and analysis
  • Serves as a key data resource for insights & visualizations related to organizational marketing & fundraising initiatives, including channel-specific, multi-channel attribution, and cross-line-of-business efforts
  • Assists with data integration efforts related to the modernization and automation of run-and-maintain reporting (including report migration across data environments), with the goal of increasing self-service utilization, decreasing data latency / time to market, maximizing data-driven insights, and complying with IT change management practices
  • Write and execute moderately complex queries against standard platforms, and cleanse and prepare data for larger analysis.
  • Oversee regular distribution of data as required through multiple formats and present data in visualization form for easy stakeholder understanding

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience & certification required.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
  • Management Experience: N/A
  • Skills & Abilities: Must have high attention to detail. Advanced skills in Excel required. Ability to work on a team. Knowledge of relational data warehouse environments & a high degree of proficiency SQL is required, including both ANSI standard (Teradata) and PostgreSQL (Amazon Redshift)
  • Travel: May require some travel for in-person meetings; optional travel for conferences and trade shows.
  • Facilities: Must have a designated home office space in an environment suitable for participation in on-camera meetings (Teams / Zoom) or work from a co-working space or Red Cross offices.

*Combination of candidate’s education and general experience satisfies requirements so long as the total years equate to description’s minimum education and general experience years combined (Management experience cannot be substituted).

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.  The work environment will consist of moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phones and printers, light traffic).  The employee must have the ability to work in a small cubicle and have the ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time.

PAY INFORMATION: The annual salary range for this position is $80,000 - $85,000. We do not offer an annual bonus for this role. Note that American Red Cross salaries are aligned to the specific geographic location in which the work is primarily performed. Other factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role. **We will review specific salary information at the time of phone screening based upon your location & experience.**
