The Site Security Specialist protects and manages classified information and equipment developed by, or entrusted to, the organization, requiring in-depth understanding of security policies, procedures, and oversight requirements for the proper classification, access, handling, storage, and destruction of classified or sensitive material. Responsible for developing, implementing and analyzing programs ensuring adherence to federal laws, regulations and directives for the classification management. Responsible for management of clearance prescreening, verification and maintenance, including upgrades or downgrades, crossovers of existing clearances, continuous vetting, and periodic reinvestigations at all clearance levels. Responsible for special and restricted access programs, briefing and debriefing individuals on requirements and responsibilities of privileged access to sensitive programs.
COMPLEXITY: Problems typically involve multiple issues, areas, or specialties. Identify potential improvements in programs and processes and recommend solutions to enhance results, including OPSEC concerns.
COMMUNICATION: Communicates with internal team members across multiple areas and client team members. May communicate with parties external to the organization (e.g., sub-contractors, vendors, etc.). Works to provide input/feedback to leaders regarding procedures, processes, and approaches to security.
Primary Responsibilities
The Homeland Security Solutions Division under the National Security Sector at Leidos has an opening within the Professional Services Support Program for a Site Security Specialist. The Site Security Specialist will directly support the customer and be committed to protecting classified information, assets, and secure spaces. The candidate will serve as a security team member and will directly interface and collaborate with key leaders and customers. Specifically, the candidate will safeguard all assets and information and process/manage SCIF access control requirements and visit requests. This position will provide, site escort to uncleared vendors, security training, and provide security management and implementation of security policies and procedures within the facility. Areas of emphasis are physical security, information security, OPSEC, and verification of clearances/accesses. The Site Security Specialist will be required to interact with and provide security support to senior DoD officials. Other duties may be assigned as needed. The position is at a customer site in the Sacramento, CA, metro area.
