Description -

What a Graphics Printhead Product Engineer does at HP:

  • Responsible for the quality and reliability of the Thermal Inkjet printheads used for Graphics Large Format printing application in meeting the desired performance levels to deliver the expected customer experience.
  • Take leadership in the continuous improvement to the reliability tests and factory testing gates to enhance detection capability of quality issues and optimize the cost of quality where appropriate.
  • Engage in New Product Introduction programs at early development phase, influencing the design/decisions for mass manufacturing and lead issue resolution for any incoming quality issue that affect the printhead product quality.
  • Collaborating with various functional groups such as process, system interaction, supply chain, procurement and customer assurance, the product engineer is responsible for performing evaluation of product/process changes, resolve quality issues, drive containment of affected parts during a quality escalation.
  • Lead the Quality Improvement activities to proactively identify, address and contain issues upfront and drive quality audit compliance for the team.
  • Develop and execute test plans to qualify product or manufacturing changes to ensure there is no impact to the product performance.

Individual who does well in this role in HP, usually possess:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical / Material / Manufacturing / Chemical / Electrical
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Possess good understanding of manufacturing process, methodologies and environment.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and project management skills.
  • Good understanding of quality assurance & process control knowledge.
  • Excellent team player, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Able to work well under pressure and tight schedules.
  • Proactive, innovative and self-motivating.
  • Possess knowledge of smart manufacturing technologies and data analytics will be an added advantage.
