THE ROLE

Pure Storage is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Director of International Revenue & AR Accounting to lead all aspects of international revenue operations, accounting policy, compliance, and statutory reporting. This role will help define strategy, oversee policy, governance and alignment across geographies. This role reports to the Senior Director of Revenue and is a critical member of the global Order to Cash leadership team.

As the international revenue leader, you will oversee global deal and go-to-market (GTM) advisory, provide technical accounting expertise under ASC 606, ensure compliance with local statutory requirements, and drive operational excellence across regions. You will manage and develop a high-performing global team responsible for accurate, timely, and scalable revenue recognition and AR processes across multiple jurisdictions.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Global Deal & GTM Advisory

• Strategic partner to international sales, legal, deal desk and monetization, and operations teams on deal structures to assess accounting impacts and ensure compliance with ASC 606 and regional requirements. Provide advice on suggested structures and/or terms and conditions to meet both the business structure, accounting optimization and operational standardization.
• Provide revenue recognition guidance for new business models, product offerings, and complex multi-element arrangements.
• Advise on go-to-market strategies, helping to balance commercial objectives with accounting and reporting compliance.

Technical Accounting & Policy

• Provides expert level knowledge of ASC 606, global revenue policy, and emerging accounting issues. 
• Own and apply technical accounting guidance in alignment with U.S. GAAP and Pure Storage’s global revenue policies.
• Research and document new or evolving accounting issues, prepare revenue memos, and coordinate technical reviews with external auditors.
• Maintain and refine international revenue policies, ensuring consistent global application and scalability as business models evolve.
• Support M&A activity by assessing acquired entities’ revenue recognition policies and integration impacts.

Revenue & AR Accounting

• Oversee international revenue close and AR accounting processes, ensuring timely, accurate, and complete reporting for all regions.
• Partner with regional controllership and operational teams to ensure proper transaction processing and reconciliations.
• Manage intercompany transactions and eliminations related to international revenue activities.
• Ensure adherence to internal controls over financial reporting for revenue and AR activities.

Close & Reporting

• Lead the monthly and quarterly close processes for international revenue, ensuring accurate revenue and deferred revenue reporting.
• Collaborate with FP&A, Treasury, and Corporate Accounting on forecasting deferred revenue, RPO, and cash collection trends.
• Support global consolidation, analytics, and reporting requirements for revenue and AR results.

SOX & Statutory Audit Support

• Own and continuously improve internal controls, walkthroughs, and documentation related to revenue and AR processes.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors on revenue and statutory audits across multiple international entities.
• Support local statutory audits by providing revenue-related documentation and analysis in alignment with local reporting standards.

Leadership & Team Development

• Lead, mentor, and develop a geographically distributed international revenue accounting team.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Drive process automation and system enhancements to scale with international growth.
• Partner closely with the U.S. Revenue, FP&A, and Global Process Owner (GPO) teams to ensure consistency and alignment across the Order to Cash organization.

AI & Automation Enablement

• Champion the adoption of automation and AI-driven technologies to streamline revenue recognition, contract review, and reporting workflows.
• Collaborate with IT and Finance Systems to integrate AI-powered forecasting and analytics capabilities into the revenue accounting ecosystem.
• Evaluate emerging AI tools for compliance monitoring, anomaly detection, and transaction matching to improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Promote a data-driven culture within the revenue accounting team, ensuring the responsible and effective use of AI insights for business decision-making.

WHAT YOU BRING

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics; CPA or international equivalent preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including Big 4 public accounting and corporate revenue accounting roles.
• Expertise in ASC 606 and experience with multiple revenue models (SaaS, hardware, hybrid).
• Deep understanding of international accounting principles, local statutory audit requirements, and multi-entity consolidations.
• Demonstrated success leading global or regional accounting teams in a high-growth, technology-driven environment.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to influence across functions.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, NetSuite and systems such as Zuora and Salesforce (SFDC); advanced reporting and automation skills a plus.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative, and evolving environment.
• Experience leveraging machine learning or intelligent automation tools to improve contract review, revenue forecasting, and reconciliation processes.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret outputs from AI-based analytics platforms to drive data-informed decision-making.

We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the Dublin, Staines, or Prague office in compliance with Pure’s policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave.
