Inside Sales Representative

Job Description:

The ISR role is responsible for driving growth across our end customers and partners. The position focuses on assessing end customer/partner needs, identifying opportunities, enabling partners with the right solutions, and supporting sales execution to the end customer. The role requires strong customer relationship management, commercial insight, and the ability to independently manage a defined portfolio of customers/partners to achieve business objectives.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Assess existing and potential customers and partners to understand business needs and match them with relevant product, solution and service offerings.

  • Develop strong, trusted relationships with internal stakeholders and country field sales teams to enable shared business growth objectives.

  • Monitor, define, and track performance metrics for SGS products and services.

  • Drive opportunity development across both new and existing customers.

  • Participate in the sales compensation plan, with variable pay tied to agreed sales‑related goals.

Core Responsibilities

Customer/Partner Enablement & Development

  • This is an individual contributor customer facing internal sales role , requiring regular verbal and written interactions directly with customers in the UK & Ireland.

  • Position and communicate customer solutions to customers and partners, ensuring they clearly understand available programs and promotions.

  • Support customers and partners by qualifying new and renewal opportunities, identifying potential cross‑sell and upsell avenues across the SGS portfolio.

  • Customer first mindset, ability to engage pre‑sales/other resources where appropriate to assist customer and partner needs and opportunities.

Sales, Quoting & Opportunity Management

  • Produce sales quotations for new and renewal opportunities in line with established criteria.

  • Own agreed customers/partners, managing opportunities from initiation to closure while driving growth in expiring annual revenue (EAR).

  • Proactively follow through with partners to progress quotes, address challenges and drive to conclusion.

  • Validate all quotations to ensure they meet the customer’s requirements.

  • Ensure all quotes and opportunity updates are accurately captured in Salesforce (SFDC).

  • Monitor opportunity progress and proactively report on pipeline development within SFDC.

Training & Relationship Building

  • Attend vendor and internal training to ensure a high level of product and program knowledge.

  • Build strong, ongoing relationships with customers/partners to support long‑term collaboration and growth.

Job Complexity

  • Requires in‑depth knowledge and significant experience within a similar commercial end customer or partner‑facing role.

  • Expected to operate as a self-starter, work independently with minimal supervision, adapt to customer requirements while leveraging existing frameworks to solve complex challenges.

  • Act as a resource for colleagues with less experience and provide guidance where they are needed.

  • Represents a stable career level with long‑term growth potential within the role.

  • Typically resolves issues using established solutions and processes.

Experience & Education

  • Knowledge of the IT software Industry, Cyber Security (Symantec) and/or IT workplace (Citrix) solutions is an advantage.

  • Typically requires 5–7 years of relevant experience with a 4‑year degree, or

  • 3 years of experience with an advanced degree, or

  • Equivalent professional experience.
