Yahoo’s Mail Data Team is seeking an experienced Senior Product Manager to lead data-driven initiatives focused on analyzing core user actions within Yahoo Mail. This role is a fantastic opportunity for a product manager with a strong background in data science, analytics, and instrumentation, who thrives on transforming raw data into actionable insights. You will be instrumental in tracking short- and long-term user behaviors, supporting experimental product features, and encouraging the development of a more mature self-service model.
What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities):
Execute on Roadmap: Collaborate and Interact with various cross-functional product and engineering teams to detail the path to accomplishing Data Science Roadmap.
Self-Service Data Solutions: Drive initiatives that promote a self-service approach, enabling data consumers to access and utilize insights independently.
Cross Team Collaboration: Act as a strategic liaison for engineering, business, and product teams, translating complex data needs into clear, actionable product requirements.
User Analytics & Insights: Understand the logical data needs behind requirements and work with teams to build internal reporting and data insight tools and develop the respective roadmaps to success.
Feature Experimentation Support: Collaborate closely with product teams to design, monitor, and analyze experiments for new Mail features, ensuring rigorous tracking and impactful evaluation of product performance.
Day to Day
Work cross functionally with user experience product managers and analytics teams to define requirements for new features or reporting capabilities.
Define success metrics and use data insights to continuously optimize for partners in product, engineering, and leadership.
Quickly become a subject matter expert on Yahoo Mail’s Data’s product capabilities and the needs of key partners.
Work with teams for instrumentation hygiene.
What we look for:
Experience: 5+ years of product management experience, ideally within a data-centric product or analytics team. Familiarity with metrics, instrumentation, and data science is essential.
Data-Driven Decision Making: Demonstrated analytical skills and experience leveraging data to guide product strategies.
Technical Proficiency: A Solid understanding of big data processing patterns and available tools for visualization and experimentation on public clouds at scale. (GCP given Preference, AWS/Azure applicable)
Customer Orientation: Proven ability to collaborate and help drive customers to capture evolving data requirements and implement effective solutions.
Leadership: Experience leading cross-functional teams and driving collaboration with engineering, product, centralized data, and analytical teams.
Product Sense: The ability to understand and translate partner needs into product features and roadmaps, with a strong focus on delivering value to end users.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate complex technical ideas to both internal and external stakeholders.
Analytical Ability: Strong analytical skills to assess performance and make data-driven decisions.

The compensation for this position ranges from $120,750.00 - $251,250.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives.
