The Strategic Buyer is responsible for managing the procurement of direct materials, developing, and executing purchasing strategies, and ensuring cost-effective procurement processes. This role involves conducting tenders, negotiating contracts, and maintaining relationships with suppliers. The Strategic Buyer is also tasked with supporting internal departments in purchasing matters, optimizing procurement processes, and ensuring the fulfillment of quality and delivery requirements.

Tasks and Qualifications:

  • Purchase direct materials for KION SCS, ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement.

  • Create and manage tenders, evaluate bids, and prepare both individual and framework contracts for KION SCS.

  • Analyze economic conditions and procurement activities within the assigned commodity to identify cost-saving opportunities.

  • Achieve material cost reduction targets within the assigned commodity through strategic purchasing initiatives.

  • Develop and implement future product strategies for the group using methodological approaches and KION tools.

  • Manage Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) to secure favorable purchasing conditions.

  • Independently communicate with suppliers in Czech and English (or German) to negotiate and manage contracts.

  • Provide advice and support to specialized departments and internal customers on purchasing issues and total acquisition costs.

  • Evaluate suppliers based on their adherence to contractual agreements, quality standards, and delivery timelines.

  • Participate in optimizing purchasing processes and conducting supplier audits to ensure compliance and efficiency.

  • Manage contracts, including NDAs, quantitative and framework agreements, and contracts related to quality requirements.

  • Monitor the fulfillment of agreed goals and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
     

  • Minimum high school education; a degree in a related field is an advantage.

  • Proficiency in English (minimum level B2); knowledge of German is an advantage.

  • Familiarity with technical documentation and ability to read technical drawings.
