Production Engineering Overview:

The Production Engineering (PE) Division is responsible for designing and building assembly lines, machines, and factories that build Toyota vehicles, engines, and transmissions. Production Engineering also leads new model introductions across the region through planning, procuring, installing, trialing, and launching assembly lines.

Key Responsibilities:

As a PE Co-op, you will be assigned between 1-3 projects that range from targeting cost or defect reductions, improving machine efficiency, collecting, and analyzing production data, re-designing parts/components for improved manufacturability, analyzing/improving floor layouts, implementing safety checks and processes, among many others. You will be working in a team environment, where you will be assigned a mentor to help in your personal and professional goals, on projects that provide value to the organization. 

Co-op’s will work on a variety of engineering assignments in the following groups:

Battery Manufacturing Engineering (BME)- Battery Cell, Battery Pack, Battery PLE          

Vehicle Manufacturing Engineering (VME) – Body, Assembly, Paint

Building and Parts Manufacturing and Engineering- Environmental &Facilities, Stamping, Plastics and Powertrain

Central Manufacturing and Engineering - Advance Planning, Strategy and Planning (SPD), Manufacturing Innovation & Transformation (MIT), New Model & Manufacturing

Key Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a full-time, accredited Bachelor's or above degree program studying Engineering in one of the following disciplines: Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Environmental and Civil
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Have lawful, unlimited authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship, both now and in the future.
  • Seeking first-year students and above that would be available to work spring, fall, and/or summer term with a cumulative GPA of 2.7 or higher.
  • Must demonstrate a genuine interest in and willingness to work in the automotive/mobility industry post-graduation.
  • Have a reliable form of transportation
