Summary:

The Training & Operations Lead is responsible for leading the critical responsibilities of training and operations to support the successful execution of Cell Therapy Market Access Manager (CMAM) team objectives. Requiring a high degree of agility, a collaborative approach, and demonstrated leadership qualities, this role will provide both strategic and operational support to peers on the CMAM team and team leadership, while also serving as a liaison to functional partners.  The individual will enhance and maintain all aspects of CMAM Training, inclusive of both the new hire training program as well as ongoing training to elevate and maintain current knowledge and development of the full team.

This role will also serve as a National Level CMAM, identifying and escalating national business and access trends, as well as health system-level trends, while providing both short- and mid-term territory coverage on an as-needed basis. The role will report into the Sr. Director, Cell Therapy Market Access Managers, and collaborate closely across the CMAM LT and matrix partners. The individual is required to achieve all assigned goals while maintaining compliance with all BMS standards.

The role will work closely with US Market Access Strategy, Patient Access Support Services, Trade/Distribution, Brand Marketing, Field Sales, Distribution, Medical, Legal, Compliance as well as other key internal matrix team partners, external customers, trade associations and critical vendor partners of BMS.

Collaborates with: CMAM LT, including East and West Regional Directors, as well as other Cell Therapy and Market Access functional leaders

The position is field based.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify operational challenges and bottlenecks in support of efficient ways of working across the Cell Therapy Market Access Manager (CMAM) team

  • Lead the development of operational solutions to support efficient execution of day-to-day team activities and objectives, including but not limited to:

    • Ensuring patient level distributor orders are placed within the designated time frame,

    • Supporting the progression of treatment center onboarding activities within the designated time frames,

    • Facilitating the team-wide completion of critical ad-hoc customer initiatives and reporting of associated outcomes to CMAM LT

  • Enhance data analytics and reporting capabilities to monitor metrics in line with evolving business objectives

  • Lead the enhancement and maintenance of CMAM training program (both new hire and ongoing) in collaboration with Market Access Commercialization Learning, Access Strategy, and vendor partners

  • Lead the development, planning, and execution of new hire training curriculum when new CMAM(s) join the team

  • Provide interim support for both activated and onboarding treatment centers in all elements of Market Access, including Government payer policy, local payer dynamics and coverage policy, complex reimbursement, coding & billing dynamics, and all components of the Cell Therapy ordering and distribution process for a given territory on a short-term or mid-term basis, as needed

  • Identify and provide relevant national-level marketplace feedback in a timely manner to the LT on customer business trends, competitive updates and account issues/opportunities

  • Assist the CMAM LT in the management of day-to-day escalations, effectively driving towards resolution and/or informing other functions when additional escalation is warranted.

  • Work cross functionally within the Cell Therapy Account Management Team, Payer Account Executives, Cell Therapy Patient Operations, Cell Therapy Patient Support Services, Trade/Distribution, Cell Therapy Access Strategy Team, and other matrix teams as needed to ensure Market Access product objectives are met

  • Deliver impactful presentations and/or participate in executive level engagements with external healthcare professionals on access and reimbursement related topics as needed and in support of the CMAM LT

  • Participate in virtual field rides with new hires to ensure competency and identify additional training opportunities or gaps

  • Identify and share trends in customer feedback, gaps and/or opportunities as related to customer facing resources

  • Serve as lead (or co-lead) in managing flow of information to and from primary vendor partners (Distributor, Patient Services Hub, etc.), partnering closely with the internal colleagues that manage each vendor. This responsibility can include but is not limited to:

    • Participating in solutions-identification to address recurring or evolving vendor challenges or gaps as business objectives shift 

    • Attending a regular cadence of meetings with internal stakeholders and vendor; providing updates to CMAM team as needed

    • Fielding questions/concerns from team and triaging appropriately

  • In collaboration with the LT, assist with the development of objectives, agenda, content, and follow up activities for national and regional team meetings


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Health or Life Sciences, Healthcare Administration, or related field required; advanced degree (MBA, MA Public Health, PharmD, etc.) preferred

  • 2+ years of direct experience in Cell Therapy Market Access strongly preferred

  • Exhibits a high degree of proven Market Access and Cell Therapy technical expertise within both payer and hospital systems

  • 10+ years of overall pharmaceutical and/or Healthcare industry experience

  • 5+ years of oncology, hematology or other complex, high cost buy and bill therapy reimbursement experience required, including:

    • Coverage, coding, billing and payment

    • Medicare (NCD, IPPS, OPPS, 340B, etc.)

    • Medical policy, managed care coverage processes and practice for in-patient and out-patient coverage

    • Local coverage determinations and case rate negotiations

  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a fast-paced environment with the need to manage constant change. Ability to deal with ambiguity – ready to change gears and plans quickly.

  • Proven ability to build relationships quickly and credibly

  • Demonstrated ability to interact and effectively partner with senior leadership across the organization

  • Proven organizational skills with ability to problem solve and manage multiple urgent priorities in parallel

The starting compensation for this job is a range from $175,000 - $220,000, plus incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility).

 

The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills and where the job is performed.

 

Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.
