As Country President based in Bangkok you will set strategic direction and lead the full marketing company, spanning commercial and corporate functions. You will translate ambition into disciplined execution, build a high-performing leadership team, and make decisive choices on portfolio, resources, and partnerships in a fast-evolving market. Can you turn bold strategy into measurable outcomes across sales growth, access, and reputation?

You will work closely with regional and global leaders to shape long-range plans, bring new solutions to market, and embed rigorous standards in quality, compliance, and ethics. With a mandate to think ahead and move with pace, you will help advance our journey to a tech-enabled enterprise—driving consistency, efficiency, and sustainable growth.
 

Accountabilities:

  • Strategic Direction and Execution: Establish country objectives and strategies aligned with corporate vision; guide and adapt execution plans to achieve profitable growth in changing market conditions.

  • Business Planning and Performance: Build the country business plan with clear sales, cost, and profit targets; lead delivery against business and organizational scorecard objectives.

  • Long-Range Planning: Formulate the country’s long-range plans in line with growth objectives and implement plans agreed with the Asia Area Vice President.

  • Portfolio and Regulatory Readiness: Arrange and review advice from Global and International BBU and OBU on product strategies; ensure all governmental regulations are met.

  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Direct and oversee operations across commercial and corporate functions; allocate financial and people resources for maximum impact and efficiency.

  • Talent and Organization: Hire, develop, and retain top talent; enforce discipline in talent reviews and succession planning; champion people development to build a high-performing leadership team and organization.

  • Compliance, Ethics, and Quality: Ensure full compliance with statutory requirements; embed a culture of ethics, integrity, and compliance with transparent upward reporting in partnership with Global Compliance; be responsible for adoption of the AZ Standard for the Marketing Company Quality Management System (QMS).

  • External Affairs and Reputation: Lead the company’s external reputation; represent the organization at public occasions and in interactions with external stakeholders; present a positive image consistent with corporate strategy.

  • Enterprise Collaboration: Operate as a member of the Asia Area Leadership Team, contributing to regional strategy and execution while advocating for Thailand’s priorities.

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • Establish objectives and strategies and guide execution plans in alignment with the corporate vision and ambition to achieve profitable growth.

  • Lead and deliver business and organization goals and scorecard objectives and adapt execution plans considering changing market situations.

  • Working with the country leadership team, build the country business plan that includes sales, cost and profit targets.

  • Formulate the country long-range plans conforming to the company's growth objectives and implement plans agreed with the Asia Area Vice President.

  • Arrange and review advice from Global and International BBU and OBU of the products to be marketed and ensure that governmental regulations are met.

  • Direct and oversee operations of both commercial and corporate functions and allocate financial and people resources in the most efficient manner.

  • Hire, develop and retain top talents by ensuring discipline in talent reviews and succession planning and in championing people development activities.

  • Ensure compliance to statutory requirements in the country are met fully.

  • Lead external reputation of the company and raise AstraZeneca Thailand profile in line with corporate strategy.

  • Represent the company at public occasions (for example, conventions) and in interactions with external parties and present a positive image of the company.

  • Ensure a culture of ethics, integrity, and compliance is embedded in all business practices alongside full accountability for effective oversight and transparent upward reporting of compliance status in partnership with Global Compliance.

  • Be responsible for adoption of the AZ Standard for the Marketing Company Quality Management System (QMS).

  • A member of the Asia Area Leadership Team.

Desirable Skills/Experience:

  • Senior leadership experience with full P&L responsibility in the pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical sector in Thailand.

  • Deep understanding of Thailand’s healthcare ecosystem, including market access, government affairs, and regulatory pathways.

  • Proven track record of launching or scaling products with cross-functional collaboration across medical, regulatory, and commercial teams.

  • Experience leading organizational transformation, including digital enablement, process automation, and data-driven decision-making.

  • Strong stakeholder management and public representation skills across industry bodies, government agencies, and healthcare partners.

  • Fluency in Thai and English and experience operating in a complex, matrixed global organization.
