Job Description Summary:

The Partner Operations and Strategy team is responsible for leading commercial strategy and relationships with financial institutions providing payment processing capabilities for PayPal Inc across all products, verticals and regions. We are seeking a high-energy and innovative professional with a passion for improving how people manage and move money. The Partner Operations and Strategy Manager is a key contributor to our team, supporting important strategic payment partnerships for PayPal in Europe.

This role is responsible for defining and executing on a comprehensive and proactive partnership strategy aligned to PayPal’s overall strategy, with a specific focus on our global Acquiring and Processing Solutions. You are an experienced payments and partnerships professional who possesses a high degree of knowledge and expertise in the field, and is proficient in navigating complex projects and stakeholder networks.

Finally, you should be team-oriented, knowing that your success will be based on how you help others succeed. The position will involve frequent interaction with PayPal leaders and external partners. Travel may be occasionally required, but minimal. The role is based in Dublin, Ireland, or London, UK.

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Manage all aspects of the partnership including prioritization of key focus areas, structuring / negotiation of new initiatives, and ongoing partner management.
  • Develop and execute programs/projects with our global partners to further PayPal’s strategic goals and overall positioning in key verticals and markets
  • Responsible for partner performance tracking/reporting, and project management activities
  • Lead Quarterly Business Reviews with top executives internally and externally, and regular reporting, analysis, and relationship updates to executives at PayPal and partner organizations.
  • Provide your expertise in discussing global payment trends, rules and regulations with internal stakeholders 
  • Ensure compliance with PayPal’s regulatory and compliance requirements, and ensure core partner operations responsibilities are being fulfilled
  • Keep a pulse on the competitive payments landscape; continually seek opportunities for PayPal to optimize our operations and deploy new products/services in a timely and efficient manner
  • Provide your expertise in discussing global payment trends, rules and regulations with internal stakeholders

  • Appetite to learn and adapt quickly and comfortable with uncertainty 

What do you need to bring:

  • 5+ years’ experience in related fields, with expertise in banking or payments
  • Enterprise-level business development or relationship management experience
  • Experience in managing external partners/vendors ; strong relationship-management and commercial negotiation skills
  • Track record of working independently and effectively in a cross-functional and matrixed environment
