Position Summary

Samsung Ads, the advertising monetization arm of Samsung Electronics, leverages proprietary real-time TV viewing behavior and insights to promote relevant brands and content experiences for consumers. We partner with brands, agencies and content owners to deliver unique advertising opportunities on native placements within our Smart TV platform and programmatically with a cross device solution.

Samsung’s unique first party data & inventory allows brands to connect to their audience as they explore content across desktop, mobile, tablets, our Smart TVs. Samsung Ads delivers high-quality audience targeting and creative solutions powered by our proprietary ad tech stack. We have a focus on first-party audience data at scale, world-class data science, and custom creative solutions all across our brand-safe cross-device ad inventory.

Role and Responsibilities

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a confident individual to join our New Product and Solutions team. We are looking for someone to focus on our mobile opportunities and dig deep into ad tech. They should have a self-starter mindset with a passion for driving the go-to-market strategy for innovative products, mobile ad solutions and new features. They should be in the know about all things programmatic with a strong understanding of the mobile ad tech landscape and how it can connect to the CTV space, and the players. This role will be the dedicated liaison between Product Management and the ads business, to ensure streamlined communication and regular sharing of market knowledge with our market-facing teams.

Candidates must have a strong knowledge base of digital advertising, including programmatic, mobile advertising, ROI driving ad formats and the connected TV space.  They will be expected to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with all appropriate levels within and outside the company.

Specific responsibilities include:

• Define revenue driving marketplace solutions based on product offerings across mobile initiatives, with a focus on our ad formats & performance.
• Understand markets, competition, and mobile user requirements in depth to inform monetizable mobile product development and strategies.
• Launch new ad products and features, test their performance, and iterate for optimization.
• Work collaboratively with UX, engineering, marketing, legal, data, and operations teams across US, Europe, and Korea.
• Serve as a strategic partner to the functional teams for the overall vision and development of  of Samsung Ads’ Mobile product strategy.
• Be able to work on multiple concurrent projects with multiple cross-functional teams including but not limited to business operations, ad operations, revenue operations, product management.
• Be able to take the high strategic view as well as dive deep on product ideas and use cases.
• Collaborate with internal teams to drive awareness and create demand for our mobile ad solutions to launch in the marketplace.
• Analyze data to assess the impact of features/projects to measure ROI and inform future decisions.
• Successfully advocate for the prioritization of impactful features on the engineering roadmap and secure key resource commitments among cross functional teams.
• Have expert knowledge of the field, including competitive and 3rd party products and competitor strategy, including privacy-focused product approaches.
• Serve as evangelist for Samsung Ads and Influence internal and external customers to get buy-in for new GTM mobile strategies that drives impact for both direct and programmatic sales.
• Play an integral role in identifying and prioritizing product needs based on customers and marketplace feedback, data insights and communicate business requirements effectively that includes use cases, customer successes and unique value and differentiators for Samsung Ads to help drive an impactful product roadmap.
• Drive product communications and gear the NPS team with most relevant information on new product innovations and in-market product enhancements.
• Be a business & sales subject matter expert across the ads business in the areas of Mobile and CTV.

 

Skills and Qualifications

Qualifications:

• 6+ years working in an organization that supports the Advertising Sales function with Fortune 500 brands in the Agency and Brand space.

• 6+ years of experience in mobile game and app marketing optimization with different ad formats, push notifications, user targeting and marketing automation.
• Deep understanding of the digital advertising space including competitive and 3rd party products and competitor strategy, while understanding the day-to-day lives of TV and Media buyers either through programmatic or direct buying channels.
• Exceptional interpersonal and partner relationship skills; proven track record of successfully influencing and negotiating with partners and working with many groups to achieve goals; thrives in highly collaborative projects, handles high stakes decisions with ease, and ability to navigate ambiguity.
• Strong communication and project management skills – with experience working with a variety of teams including engineering, marketing, data & analytics, operations, finance, and sales.
• Experience working with Programmatic technology, particularly in the area of packaging and positioning ad tech as a key element of the media buying process.
• Understanding & proficiency of the Programmatic & Mobile advertising landscape. Experience in CTV advertising is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Advertising, Engineering, Marketing or related field.
• ‘Entrepreneurial’ mindset and ability to adapt and thrive within a fast-paced environment.
• A creative thinker with a ‘can do’, results-oriented approach to business; A bias for action and the ability to overcome obstacles, ambiguity, and continuous change

Salary Range Pay Transparency: Compensation for this role, for candidates based in New York, NY is expected to be between $130,000 and $160,000. Actual pay will be determined considering factors such as relevant skills and experience, and comparison to other employees in the role.
