Leidos Ocean and Atmospheric Sciences Branch is looking for a Data Scientist intern to work on algorithm development, testing, and AI/ML training for multiple projects.  This is an ideal internship position for the right candidate to use AI/ML in ISR applications at the Edge!

Primary Responsibilities

In this role you will work with a mentor with daily supervision. You will participate in team meetings, algorithm development and implementation, training and testing AI/ML systems, and testing code. You will also document your efforts and your findings, and present the culmination of your work. The responsibilities may be modified to maximize value to the candidate and to the team.

Basic Qualifications

  • Must be at least in your senior year of your undergraduate education or in graduate school in science or engineering.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS Clearance.

  • US citizenship required.

  • Programming experience in Python, Tensorflow and C++.

  • Past or ongoing Physics, Math or Engineering academic track

  • Strong understanding of mathematics and physics.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to be organized in ones work and to document your efforts. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct machine learning experience involving neural network design, training, and evaluation.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $44,850.00 - $81,075.00
