Job Profile

Leader with strong accounting, internal and external reporting, and internal control experience, and advanced analytical, commercial, and forecasting and planning skills. The candidate must also possess excellent inter-personal, communication, problem-solving and leadership skills.  This position will provide financial guidance, with both support and challenge to GPS Leadership which are critical to the achievement of business and financial objectives.

Ensures adherence to accounting policies, internal controls, and financial reporting deadlines, and safeguards organizational assets. Responsibilities are to lead the Accounting and Finance function, and as a cross functional generalist in a combination of disciplines.

Provides leadership and direction through senior managers across the Netherlands, Poland, and France, is accountable for business performance and functional excellences. Develops and executes business unit plan to support strategic objectives based on a comprehensive understanding of internal and industry standards and principles.  Applies in-depth business acumen and commercial expertise to differentiate the business unit from the competition. Evaluates key business challenges, supports and/or directs the development of innovative solutions. Negotiates with and influences others internally and externally, with great latitude on outcomes. Leads collaboratively to achieve desired outcomes across a matrix structure.

Accountabilities: 

  • Partner with operations to achieve financial and operational goals, around productivity, profitability, and working capital metrics.
  • Work with business unit leadership team to set and drive execution of financial objectives, capital plans, top line and margin expansion, and operational projects.
  • Oversight of business unit financial processes: monthly reporting of variances and remedial actions; submission and presentation of required financial reports, forecasts, and analyses in accordance with Segment and Corporate deadlines.
  • Productivity reporting monthly for finance, operations, and sourcing.
  • Analyze and present results against comparatives (plans, forecasts, previous periods), provide context against relevant external factors, and provide recommendations to management to drive business performance and achieve financial goals.
  • Oversee business unit month end close procedure and lead Day+3 monthly performance review calls with Segment management.
  • Oversee robust forecasting with the goal of forecast accuracy of 90%+ for revenue, operating income, and operating cash flow.
  • Oversee a robust and effective internal control environment, including compliance to GAAP, internal policies, and Sarbanes Oxley internal controls requirements.
  • Provide capital and investment project evaluations, including NPV and ROIC analysis.
  • Must be able to effectively collaborate across the organization and positively influence business outcomes.  Must effectively communicate with business leaders across all functional disciplines.
  • Partner with operations to manage and oversee physical inventory and cycle counts and ensure proper controls are implemented and maintained relative to inventory controls.
  • Maintain and improve the overall internal control environment, safeguarding fixed and working capital.
  • Ensure that the organization meets the necessary tax, permit and licensing requirements.
  • Collaborate with executive team to establish more effective processes and controls.
  • Support and be an active, constructive, and vocal participant in a future ERP implementation.
  • Lead contact for internal and external auditors and tax consultants, providing necessary documentation and support to achieve deadlines.

Knowledge and Skills

Education/ Experience

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Professional accounting designation.
  • Wide commercial experience and / or MBA.
  • 10 years experience in the finance function of a manufacturing environment.
  • 5 years of financial leadership position - regional leadership role.
