About the Role:

As a Senior Accountant at our biopharmaceutical company, you will be a key player in managing and overseeing our financial operations. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records, preparing detailed financial reports, and supporting our month-end close process. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in accounting, preferably within the biotech or pharmaceutical industry, and experience working in a public company or public accounting firm. Your Contributions (include, but are not limited to):

  • Conduct complex account reconciliations and maintain the general ledger, adhering to public company standards and regulations. This includes handling research and development accruals, intercompany account reconciliations, and elimination entries

  • Lead the month-end close processes in compliance with public company requirements, accounting for research and development studies, and reviewing various account balances and transactions

  • Ensure strict adherence to GAAP, SOX, and company policies, and assist in preparing financial audits

  • Collaborate with the Business and Finance teams to analyze expense trends and provide valuable insights for decision-making

  • Support the implementation of financial systems and process improvements, focusing on aligning with public company standards and enhancing accounting controls and processes

  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff, sharing your valuable public company experience and best practices

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a relevant field, with a minimum of 4 years of experience in a public company or public accounting role, showcasing a deep understanding of public company financial operations OR

  • Master’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field and/or CPA certification, with at least 2 years of similar experience mentioned above

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and expertise in accounting operations for public companies, especially research and development accruals and intercompany accounting

  • Proficiency in industry-standard accounting software, Microsoft Excel, and preferably NetSuite accounting system, in alignment with public company financial best practices

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a sharp attention to detail and accuracy while maintaining focus on the broader financial landscape

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team, with a proven track record of successful cooperation within public company financial environments

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a history of effectively communicating financial information to diverse stakeholders

The annual base salary we reasonably expect to pay is $97,000.00-$133,000.00. Individual pay decisions depend on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 20% of the earned base salary and eligibility to participate in our equity based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan (with company match), paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
