Job Summary:
The Senior Financial Planning Analyst Position is a corporate level role that reports directly to Executive Director of Financial Planning or Director of Financial Planning. The Senior Financial Planning Analyst is responsible for activities related to planning, preparation and execution of the system wide operating and capital planning process, forecasting, variance reporting and other financial analysis. This specifically involves activities to maintain and prepare the Wellstar planning system for this process and manipulation and analysis of the data involved. This individual will be responsible for creation and maintenance of more complex financial models and processes. In addition, this individual has daily interactions with company officers and leaders in direct support of the corporate leadership team to manage corporate financial planning activities including but not limited to creating the annual operating and capital plans, monthly budget variance analyses, corporate department financial analyses and ad-hoc projects. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to developing financial models and tools, pro formas and special analyses as requested. This individual should be able to work independently with guidance from leadership and interact effectively with team members at all levels within the organization across multiple disciplines. The analyst is also expected to mentor newer or less experienced team members. This role is important to continue the financial success of Wellstar to enable the system to continue to meet enhance the well-being of every person we serve now and into the future.Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Provide financial analysis and planning support to the Wellstar corporate team - Serve as a liaison with corporate operations to increase general financial understanding and promote fiscal responsibility - Work in tandem with corporate leaders in their operating and capital budget development - Support all corporate shared services with complex financial analyses, pro formas and other ad hoc requests - Perform monthly budget to actual variance analyses to support corporate operational leaders during and after the monthly accounting close process Support the system wide operating and capital planning process, forecasting, variance reporting and other financial analysis - Serve as a subject matter expert in assisting the system wide finance team with processes led by the corporate team - Take responsibility for creation and execution of more complex model development related to all financial planning processes - Assist in system wide operating and capital planning process development, documentation and execution of processes and models - Review and evaluate plans, spreads, pro formas etc. within the financial planning system and models for accuracy and reasonability - Support other system wide analyses as needed Support Wellstar’s financial planning system and other financial models to insure accurate planning, forecasting and reporting - Perform routine maintenance and monitoring of processes and data feeds related to Wellstar’s financial planning system - Verifies data integrity, quality and accuracy both as inputs to and outputs of systems and models - Maintain security in the system to ensure only appropriate access is provided to information to keep financial information confidential - Assist in activities to prepare the system for major activities such as the annual planning process or accountability reporting - Perform basic report writing and modification out of the financial planning system - Serve as subject matter experts for the financial planning software and support/advise users system wide in it’s use Other duties as assigned - Serve as a mentor to newer or less experienced team members - Work closely with department managers to provide ad-hoc financial and operational analysis assistance - Work closely with finance leadership on monthly and annual reporting and system maintenance needs - Create or perform data checks and quality reviews on both internal and external financial and operational analyses as neededRequired Minimum Education:
Bachelor's Degree preferably in Finance, Business, Healthcare Administration or similar field Required and Master's Degree PreferredRequired Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):

Strong financial analysis, technical and data skills. This includes advanced Microsoft Excel and Office expertise and comfort manipulating, blending, analyzing and visualizing insights from large, typically financial, data sets. Strong communication skills are needed to work with leaders at all levels.
