How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

The Sales Manager – Industrial Gases is responsible for developing and managing Air Liquide’s industrial gas business in bulk within the assigned territory by driving sustainable revenue growth, managing key customer relationships, securing long-term supply contracts, and delivering value-based solutions in line with Air Liquide’s safety, operational excellence, and sustainability standards

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Growth

  • Achieve assigned sales, volume, and margin targets for industrial  gases

  • Grow Air Liquide’s presence across merchant, bulk supply models

  • Develop and execute territory and account strategies aligned with Air Liquide’s business plans

  • Identify new opportunities in greenfield projects, plant expansions, and new industrial clusters
     

Key Account & Contract Management

  • Manage strategic and key accounts with long-term supply agreements

  • Lead contract negotiations, renewals, and pricing discussions in accordance with company policies

  • Conduct regular customer reviews on consumption, service performance, and safety

  • Ensure high customer satisfaction and retention
     

Project & Solution Selling

  • Work closely with Engineering, Operations, and Project teams to propose:

    • Bulk storage and pipeline supply systems

  • Prepare and present techno-commercial proposals, tenders, and ROI justifications

  • Support project execution from opportunity identification to contract signing
     

Commercial & Pricing Management

  • Support pricing strategies considering cost structures, logistics, and market dynamics

  • Ensure profitability, credit discipline, and compliance with approval processes

  • Manage RFQs, tenders, and customer negotiations professionally

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Coordinate with Operations & Supply Chain to ensure reliable and safe gas delivery

  • Work with Finance on credit control and commercial governance

  • Partner with Safety & Quality teams to ensure regulatory and SHEQ compliance of customers
     

Market Intelligence & Strategic Input

  • Monitor competitor activities, pricing trends, and technological developments
    Provide market insights and demand forecasts to support capacity and investment planning
     

Team Management

  • Manage a team of Key Account Managers and Business Developers to sign new business

  • Forge relations with cross-functional stakeholders

  • Define, monitor and drive team to achieve KPIs in line with the company’s objectives

Safety, Compliance & Sustainability

  • Actively promote Air Liquide’s Safety First culture in all customer interactions

  • Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, PESO, ISO, GMP, and internal Air Liquide standards

  • Support sustainability initiatives including energy efficiency and decarbonization solutions


 

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Sales revenue, volume, and operating income achievement

  • New customer acquisition and project wins

  • Contract renewals and long-term agreements

  • Customer satisfaction and retention

Qualifications & Experience

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical / Mechanical / Industrial) preferred

  • MBA / PGDM in Sales or Marketing is an advantage
     

Experience

  • 8+ years of experience in B2B industrial sales

  • Prior experience in industrial gases, chemicals, utilities, or energy-intensive industries preferred

  • Experience handling large industrial customers and long-term contracts

  • Prior experience in managing team is an advantage
     

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of industrial gas applications and solutions

  • Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills

  • Commercial and financial understanding (P&L, margins, ROI)

  • Ability to work in a matrix and cross-functional environment

  • Strong communication, presentation, and analytical skills
