POSITION SUMMARY

Are you passionate about AI? We are looking for a talented Senior Artificial Intelligence (AI) Build Engineer within the Digital Technology team. We’re making a significant investment in our people and systems to strengthen our digital foundation, drive business optimization, and enable our AI growth strategies. The Senior AI Build Engineer will play a critical role in these initiatives.

Nature and Scope
The Senior AI Build Engineer will work on a team of collaborative, advanced-degreed, highly knowledgeable specialists who apply Data Science to increase productivity at Air Products. You will contribute ideas to AI strategy at Air Products and effectively implement improvement opportunities using AI leading to business success and growth. You will also work with business partners to drive adoption of models you build. This is an exciting and rewarding position which provides exciting growth prospects and the opportunity to solve challenging business problems using your unique skills.
 

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Agentic AI: Develop solutions using agentic AI to increase business productivity
• AI Expertise: Expert practitioner in AI, Generative Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and related fields
• Technical Acumen: Technical contributor on Data Science Team
• Continuous Learning: Learn continuously to stay current on cutting-edge AI/ML technology
• Business Results: Identify and understand business problems, define data requirements, formulate, build, and communicate AI and ML solutions concisely
• MLOps: Leverage MLOps platform to accelerate AI development and adoption
• Product Delivery: Bring Data Science perspective working with Product Management Team to design and create self-service solutions for business clients on our MLOps platform
• AI Adoption: Foster a strong network with business and functional partners to drive AI adoption

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education: Position requires a MS or PhD degree in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or related discipline
• Experience: AI and ML technologies including Agentic AI
• English proficiency (written and spoken) is mandatory

Technical Skills

• Experience in Generative AI including agents and Retrieval Augmented Generation using Large Language Models
• Expertise using Deep Learning in image analysis and graph applications
• Proficiency in Python and AI frameworks such as Model Context Protocol, TensorFlow, PyTorch, LangChain, and Hugging Face
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and MLOps tools
• Geographic Information Systems experience is a plus

Additional Skills:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to act as a translator of complex technical topics to simple language with business partners
• Ability to collaborate with business partners to drive adoption
• Ability to work independently and within a team to tackle meaningful problems
