Working in a team-oriented environment, the Chief Engineer Intern Student will be working with the Collins Aerospace global engineering group by supporting the development of a Landing Gear in-house structural analysis software tool, product safety initiatives, and structures support to individual landing gear programs.

What You Will Do

  • Supporting existing in-house software programs and developing new platforms and analysis tools using Microsoft Visual Studios Visual Basic coding platform.

  • Supporting product safety initiatives within the Landing Gear business including SharePoint site support and development, management of safety issues within the Polarion software environment

  • Supporting structures teams to complete customer deliverables by completing stress analysis tasks

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Successful completion of three years of a four-year University Bachelor’s program in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering. Knowledge in the fields of Solid Mechanics, Stress Analysis, Aerospace Materials, and Computer Programming are required to perform effectively in this position. Since this position will require interaction with other engineers in the Structures Group, an individual with excellent communication skills is required.

  •  Successful candidates must meet all requirements under ITAR and CGD as well as be eligible to work in Canada.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Strong knowledge of MS Office programs, including Word and Excel.
