We are looking for dedicated Senior Cyber Security Administrators to join the St Vincent’s Cyber Security Team. Reporting to the Cyber Security Operations Manager, you will be essential in monitoring and analysing security events, implementing security measures, and supporting the team in safeguarding our organisation. Your expertise will contribute to enhancing our security posture and ensuring the ongoing protection of our systems and data. 

We have two (2) new permanent full-time opportunities available with an immediate start. These exciting opportunities will have a strong focus on either SIEM systems knowledge or Privileged Access Management. Both opportunities are available on a hybrid working arrangement and can be based in any of our Group Offices in Melbourne, Brisbane or Sydney. You will also be expected to take part in the D&T on-call after hours roster. 

Key responsibilities of the role: 

  • Monitor and analyse security alerts and incidents using SIEM tools to detect and respond to potential threats, and support incident response efforts, including investigating security breaches and implementing corrective actions. 

  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify weaknesses and recommend remediation strategies. 

  • Assist in the development and implementation of security policies, procedures, and best practices. 

  • Collaborate with teams to implement and manage security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and endpoint protection solutions. 

  • Provide guidance, training, and awareness to promote a culture of security within the organisation. 

  • Stay current with emerging security threats and trends, and proactively recommend improvements to enhance security posture, while demonstrating a commitment to continuous learning. 

Things that work for us: 

  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience in a Cyber Security role, with a focus on incident detection and response. 

  • Experience across common security platforms including Microsoft Office 365, SIEMs, Email gateway products, Privilege Access Management, Endpoint Detection and Vulnerability Management platforms. 

  • Solid understanding of security frameworks, tools, and technologies, including ACSC Essential Eight & NIST CSF. 

  • Familiarity with vulnerability management and penetration testing methodologies. 

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess and respond to security incidents effectively. 

  • Experience in developing and enforcing security policies and procedures. 

  • Excellent communication skills to convey complex security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders. 

  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, or similar are highly desirable. 

  • A proactive and adaptable mindset, with a willingness to stay updated on emerging threats and technologies.
