JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for maintaining and coordinating ERCOT’s relationships with Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUC). Ensure that PUC Commissioners and PUC staff are provided with continuous support and information regarding ERCOT strategy, operations, market analysis and administrative processes that impact the Texas Electric Industry. Analyze and monitor all relevant Texas legislation, ERCOT stakeholder activities, market protocol and procedure changes.

ADDITIONAL JOB DUTIES

  • Broadly applies principles, theories and concepts related to the profession. A seasoned, experienced professional with an in-depth/full understanding of area of specialization.

  • May provide recommendations regarding issues outside the bounds of defined procedures and practices.

  • Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.

  • Wide latitude for decisions within assignments, programs and projects; impact is generally limited to the project or department.

  • Acts as a resource to advise, and may at times a lead the work of lower level professional and/or support employees.

  • Generally represents the department on projects as necessary and may perform in a project leadership role.

  • Acts as the primary point of contact with PUC leadership and management

  • Maintains strong and continuous relationships with all levels of PUC staff

  • Monitors activities at the PUC that affect electricity industry policymaking and regulatory compliance and procedures

  • Coordinates and schedules contacts between ERCOT management and PUC Commissioners and their staff

  • Prepares briefings for ERCOT executive and management teams dealing with PUC Commissioners and PUC staff

  • Coordinates development of quality documents and presentations (e.g., testimony, white papers, reports, etc.) pertinent to PUC activities

  • Organizes, implements and conducts outreach and introductory training to all levels of PUC staff

  • Attends PUC Open Meetings, hearings, workshops and ERCOT stakeholder meetings as needed

  • Supports the Legal Department as needed, particularly for policy and impact analysis that affect and involve the PUC and other state agencies

  • Develops and maintains working knowledge of operations needed to support external and internal business needs

  • Develops and maintains strong working relationships with other ERCOT departments

  • Coordinates all communications regarding mutual PUC and ERCOT affairs and issues

  • Develops internal controls and processes to facilitate timely communications to the PUC

EXPERIENCE

  • Requires minimum 3 years job related work experience in excess of degree requirements

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's Degree : Economics, Political Science, Journalism, Communication or related field (Required)
  • or a combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge to a major in such fields is required

Expected Salary Range:

$84,283 - $143,296
