Position Summary
 

The Physician provides high-quality, patient-centered care as part of a collaborative care team at Martin’s Point Health Care. This role manages a panel of patients, diagnoses and treats a variety of conditions, supports clinical quality and access, participates in call coverage, and partners with physicians, advanced practice providers, clinical staff, and operational leaders to support excellent patient outcomes.

Job Description

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide medical care within the physician’s specialty and scope of practice.
  • Manage a patient panel using evidence-based clinical practices.
  • Diagnose and treat acute and chronic conditions, diseases, and injuries.
  • Educate patients on treatment plans, preventive care, medications, and follow-up needs.
  • Document care accurately and timely in the medical record.
  • Participate in call coverage, as assigned.
  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, clinical staff, and operational leaders to coordinate patient care.
  • Provide clinical guidance, mentorship, and support to advanced practice providers and other clinical team members, as appropriate.
  • Participate in daily huddles, team meetings, and workflow improvement efforts.
  • Support quality improvement, population health, payer quality programs, and patient experience initiatives.
  • Review clinical data, patient feedback, and quality measures to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Participate in chart review, case review, and clinical standardization efforts, as assigned.
  • Partner with practice leadership to support site-specific policies, procedures, access, quality, and operational priorities.
  • Support compliance with applicable organizational policies, clinical standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, and orientation of physicians and advanced practice providers, as requested.
  • Partner with enabling departments, including Credentialing, Risk Management, Quality, Information Systems, Finance, Human Resources, and Compliance.
  • Perform other duties consistent with the physician role, as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Medical Degree, MD or DO, from an accredited medical school.
  • Board certification or board eligibility in the applicable specialty.
  • Active, unrestricted medical license in the state where the physician is assigned to practice, or ability to obtain.
  • Current DEA license, or ability to obtain.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Direct patient care experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Three or more years of direct patient care experience.
  • Three or more years of managed care experience.
  • Experience working with clinicians to implement evidence-based practices.
  • Experience supporting quality improvement, population health, or patient experience initiatives.
  • Experience mentoring, coaching, or providing clinical guidance to other providers or staff.
