Summary
The Quarry Manager's role is to ensure the safe and efficient execution of mining operations and initial crushing stages in compliance with all pertinent permits. This position demands a dedication to achieving success and a proactive, adaptable approach to changing conditions. Furthermore, it requires a strategic assessment of all mining operation phases to guarantee a consistent supply of rock for the manufacturing operations it supports. The supervision of both direct reports and their hourly personnel is an essential aspect of this role. The objective is to foster a highly competent, skilled, knowledgeable, and collaborative team that is empowered to excel.
Essential Duties
Manage the extraction, processing, and distribution of materials from the mine site, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with safety, environmental, and legal standards.
Collaborate with professionals such as engineers, geologists, surveyors, and contractors to plan and implement mining projects effectively.
Developing short and long term strategies to optimize reserves and mining operations.
Gather data to develop a targeted training program to improve operator performance utilizing best mining practices.
Accurately and timely prepare required reports and maintain accurate data and other records as required.
Ensure efficient operations of the assigned crushing and screening plant. Ensure operators are appropriately trained, and uphold SGI standards.
Efficiently manage staff and equipment to optimize operational performance. Set key performance indicators and achieve related goals.
Effectively direct and manage staff and equipment resources to optimize operational performance outcomes. Establish measurable key performance indicators and drive the achievement of targeted goals.
Foster the professional growth of assigned production personnel by providing skill development opportunities aligned with future career aspirations and business needs.
Conduct employee performance evaluations and address disciplinary matters as required.
Oversight of equipment availability and optimizing uptime.
Development for capital request for new equipment or equipment overhauls.
Budget preparation and managing spend to the approved budget.

Working Conditions: Work is performed in limited enclosed facilities and outdoor areas where extremes of heat, cold, dust, noise, and wet conditions and rough terrain exist. Up to 60% of the work is administrative in nature.
Physical requirement: Prolonged sitting and standing, lifting objects (up to 50lbs), extended regular hours, bending, climbing, kneeling, and stooping.
