A typical day for this position involves working with multiple departments to ensure that all inbound loads into and out of the Atlantic provinces are executed by various modes of transport (rail/road/ocean).

This team member will work with the Loblaw Replenishment, Outbound Operations and our carrier partners to ensure that product is delivered/received into our distribution centres on time.

Main responsibilities are completing order preparation functions, load tendering and exception management, inbound scheduling and coordinating inbound execution with our fleet/carrier partners/network.

Shift: Mon- Fri (day shift)

What you will do:

Order Preparation

  • Work with suppliers and replenishment to ensure that all POs are booked for pick up 48 hours in advance of pick up date
  • Identify system configuration opportunities; documenting and action with stakeholders.
  • Working with IB Scheduling team to appoint deliveries into Loblaw Distribution Centres.

Load planning

  • Communicate with Replenishment, Suppliers, scheduling and carriers to work out details of pickup and delivery
  • Manually planning loads in our Transport Management system
  • Track and Trace - Tracking loads to ensure successful delivery and on time arrival
  • Documenting any challenges and reporting to Transport Manager
  • Exception/Rush load planning and execution.

Customer Service

  • Responds to phone and email requests sent by from Planners; Vendors; Replenishment; Scheduling; Warehouse Operations and Transport Operations
  • Attending daily meeting with transport operations and replenishment team
  • Responding to carrier emails in real-time to address any concerns or challenges.

What you will need: 

  • Strong organization skills would be an asset 

  • College Education preferred 

  • 1-2 years of related work experience (Transport/Supply Chain/Warehouse) 

  • Excellent communication skills are an asset 

  • Must have strong leadership skills 

  • Must have the ability to multitask, make decisions and problem solve .
