Job Title: Intern – BIGCOE (Analytics Engineering)

Department: Global Finance

Location: Bangalore

Duration: 6 months internship

Position Summary

A 6-month internship opportunity for recent graduates to gain hands-on experience in data engineering and analytics within an enterprise data platform environment. This role provides equal exposure to data transformation workflows and Power BI analytics development, working alongside experienced data engineers and analytics professionals.

Core Responsibilities

Data Engineering Support

  • Write SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and validation

  • Perform data quality checks including row counts, sum validations, and reconciliation

  • Assist with data transformation tasks using SQL, Power Query, or Fabric notebooks

  • Support Python-based data processing and automation scripts

  • Learn and work with Azure data platforms including Fabric, Databricks, or Synapse

Data Analytics Support

  • Assist in developing Power BI dashboards and semantic models

  • Learn and write DAX measures for calculations and KPI tracking

  • Support dimensional modeling including fact and dimension table design

  • Perform data analysis and create visualizations to support business insights

  • Create documentation for data models, measures, and analytical processes

Required Qualifications

  • Recent graduate (2024-2026) or final-year student in Computer Science, Data Science, IT, Statistics, or related field

  • Basic to intermediate SQL proficiency with ability to write queries for data analysis

  • Familiarity with data analysis concepts and tools (Excel, Power BI, or similar)

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Eagerness to learn data engineering and analytics technologies

  • Good communication skills and ability to work in collaborative team environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completed internship or academic project involving data analysis, Power BI, or SQL

  • Python programming experience with pandas and numpy libraries

  • Exposure to database systems (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server)

  • Basic understanding of data modeling or dimensional concepts

  • Completed online courses or certifications related to data analysis or Power BI

Education

Bachelor's degree (pursuing or recently completed) in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, Statistics, or related field
