What You Will Need:
Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine program with thorough knowledge of radioisotopes.
Current registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or certification by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
Ability to effectively interact with patients who may be anxious or confused, as well as with physicians and hospital staff.
Current Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) license.
Knowledge of proper body mechanics and/or experience using them effectively.
Current CPR certification.
What You Will Do:
Perform diagnostic nuclear medicine procedures assigned by the supervisor and operate nuclear medicine units.
Explain examination procedures to patients and provide necessary instructions.
Assist patients from wheelchairs and stretchers onto and off the imaging table, positioning them for examinations and applying immobilization devices or compression bands as needed.
Monitor patients' conditions frequently while in the Nuclear Medicine area and report any critical changes to the Radiologist.
Administer the appropriate radioisotope with the correct dosage following department policy and procedure. Accurately document dosages on dose sheets in compliance with IEMA regulations.
