Compensation Overview

The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

$87,500.00 - $144,400.00

What Is the Opportunity?

Personal Insurance Technology team is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to perform technical analysis, design, configuration and/or software engineering functions to deliver innovative and sustainable technology solutions to strategically advance business objectives while servicing the needs of our customers, employees and agents. As a member of an Agile circle and team, you will work with a diverse stakeholder group to elicit, analyze, specify and create comprehensive technical system requirements, and liaise with the teams responsible for design, UX, and software engineering to build high quality assisted service digital and customer facing self-service capabilities.

This role involves performing current and future state system analysis and design through:
• Code analysis
• Service level testing and database querying
• Mapping data from source to target (i.e. web-service and data construct mappings and contracts, defining XML/JSON schema structure)
• Documenting/refining technical user stories, assumptions and dependencies
• Carrying out acceptance criteria testing
• Working with engineering team to communicate issues found during testing and provide subject matter expertise during build and testing phases.
• Ability to apply knowledge of current industry trends and techniques to formulate solutions within the context of assigned projects.

What Will You Do?

  • Perform current state system analysis through code-level analysis, testing and database analysis
  • Define future system state by documenting technical solution requirements (data mapping, reference data, services, product rules, etc.)
  • Perform data mapping between business concepts and technical constructs (Web-service/API interface mappings and contracts)
  • Accountable for integration of technical design across all requirements
  • Create system-level process flows and sequence diagrams
  • Cross-organization collaboration to define and document comprehensive product and system requirements
  • Define and carry-out acceptance criteria testing using tools such as SOAP UI, Postman, Rest Assured, Apache http libraries, NPM-Request, etc.
  • Work with development team to communicate issues found during acceptance criteria testing and provide SA expertise during build/test phases
  • Collaborate with team to perform analysis, assessment and resolution for defects and incidents of intermediate complexity
  • Ability to independently transition to unfamiliar business and systems domains.
  • Work within guidelines set by team to independently tackle well-scoped problems.

What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?

  • Five years of experience in Business Systems or equivalent preferred.
  • Bachelors degree in Business, MIS or other related field preferred.
  • Experience and expertise with Agile methodologies, tools and measurement practices.

  • Technical Knowledge/Tools: Able to expertly assess, design develop, and support applications, systems and solutions to achieve business and/or technical requirements. Demonstrates technical understanding for multiple languages, applications, systems, technologies, and/or frameworks, and has the ability to influence technical direction or defect resolution. Fully understands business applications and/or technical system environments in which the system operates. Experience and /or knowledge of web, service and messaging based architectures, as well as, developer automation and Cloud based solutions. **   The preferred technical skills are, but not limited to:
    • Mulesoft (API Management), .NET CORE, Javascript, React and/or Angular
    • Ability to use Postman and Rest Assured to execute /test web services
    • Strong background in working with JSON and XML (read/build)
    • Basic understanding of SQL, and ability to run database queries against Oracle and SQL Server
    • Preferred experience with Salesforce Service Cloud development platform
    • Stylus Studio (XML/XSD creation)
    • Visual Studio (reverse code engineering)
    • Visio (system process flow)
    • Rally/Jira (technical documentation)

Able to leverage previous experience to consider a variety of alternatives to arrive at a timely, practical, and cost-effective solution to resolve defects or incidents.

What is a Must Have?

  • Three years of experience in Business Systems or equivalent required
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
